Are there any characters you wish got more development? [general]

Not every character can get their story told, I know that. However it feels like there are a lot of characters whose motives could have been interesting if we learned them. I'm not talking about changing their character, just potential reasons for their actions.

Drew- She is a monumental b*tch, sure, no doubt. That being said, I feel there was some real potential within that. She was one of the only characters who seemed to still hate Selina, in my head (pure headcannon) it's because she truly looked up to her as a big sister and so her betrayed hurt her on a deeper level which made her act more like a b*tch then she already was.

Instead...she's just kinda a mean girl generic character there to make Piper look good and vaugely justify why Piper and her whole 5 minutes of demi-god expirence deserved to be head of the cabin.

Octavian- Again, evil dude. Literally killed a girl because he lost a weekly seige game. That being said, was getting toyed with by Apollo. How long had that been going on? Is he just a straight psycho or was his life priming him for this personality type?

For someone who becomes a big problem, we know fairly little about him besides he is in the now a power hungry ass.

Does anyone here have a website for their writing?

I was going to make a website for my writing but wasn't sure how hard/easy it is to do or if it's an expensive/time consuming thing.

From my (limited) reasearch it isn't that expensive but I want to get opinions from people who have actually done it before I rush into anything and realise I'm in over my head.

Are there down sides to spartan IV augmentations?

I know that Spartan II had a lot of faliures and deaths. Then that Spartan III Gamma company had their own set of issues. Then there is Ilsa Zane's whole deal and she is a Spartan IV.

However those were all experements. I'm talking more the standard augmentations of Spartan IV now that it is somewhat of a mass creation.

Like if you are offered to become a Spartan IV, is there really any reason to say no in the sense of risks to ones self?

How would you feel about different actors for gods in some scenes? [pjotv]

Since the gods can all shapeshift and sometimes do in order to hide who they are, a cool way to show that would be an entierly different actor.

The scene that made me think of this was actually in titans curse where Athena helps Percy out in the dam. Is it actually said she shape shifts? No, she just looked different enough that Percy didn't make her out except for the eyes. However I think it'd be cool for just a scene here and there if the gods were different actors to show their shapeshifting.

Do you think gods change their form dependant on the kid they're talking to? [General]

I was thinking on this fact in part because of the show but only as an easier representation then the books.

Gods don't have dna, sure. However its very much shown in books and show that genetic traits tend to be carried through to the demigod in terms of body traits.

As such, i was thinking are we seeing Athena as Annabeth's mum because she is interacting with Annabeth, and if so, if she went to talk to another of her kids on a quest she would take the apperance she had when she met their mortal parent instead? Taking the form most recoginised by the child they are interacting with and the one most likely to be trusted.

The exception is kinda Aphrodite who has a whole other thing going on and gods with only one kid since it becomes somewhat meaningless

Where are people finding artists/cover artist?

To prefrence, I do not want ai anywhere in my project, this includes the artwork. How others view ai is of no consequence to me, my personal opinion is it should hold no merrit in creative circles.

Anywho, with that out of the way.

I am making a website and publishing my first book (roughly at the same time) my friend already does web design so sorting out the website is sorted but I thought it would be good to look into artists now rather then get close to the publishing date and be behind.

I've heard Fivver can be a very very mixed bag so wasn't sure if there were some more trust worthy sights.

Do either side actually want to talk?

I am fairly anti-ai in my personal use.

As an author I believe part of what makes writing have it's depth is in the words themselves and how you as the writer choose to use them. Many who use ai get the ai to choose those words, or have the ai try to 'correct' their wordage with something better. Short of true grammatical mistakes I'd argue there isn't really true 'improvement' to be had in that way since only you know how you want your scene to truly feel, ai wont, at best it can guess.

I have other reasons but that isn't the point of this post.

As someone who will never use it in my creative endevors, I also do not plan to attack others who do. However I would still like to hear from them and see what their reasonings are and have a civil conversation if possible. Since their are true reasonings and facts for both sides.

Ai is bad for local ecosystems and people near data centers, it is also true that analytical ai when used properly will do amazing things in medical fields.

Am I perfect? No. I crossed paths with Witty and her logic almost felt like it was intended to draw me into an argument.

However this sub and most all ai subs pro or against feel like all they are is screaming with one another while there isn't actually much dialogue happening.

How do we expect to be understood or to understand others if all that is happening is sharing memes meant to antagonise or just being hostile.

Did you have any theories when reading that turned out to be wrong? [general]

When I first read that Luke "still had friends in camp" I was always kind of curious on who it would be since I assumed it would be someone we'd met relatively early on. (my first mistake)

Then we met a goddess who was consistently, subconciously, shapeshifting in book 3 (Aphrodite). My brain thought "oh, someone with shapeshifting powers would make a great spy" since if you're a spy you probably wouldn't tell anyone you could, especially if you plan to use it to do sneaky things.

I realise now it was somewhat of a pointless overcomplication in my own reading that I was just trying to figure it out in my 12/13 year old brain but it made sense to me.

But yeah, I was curious if anyone else had thoughts like this.

How do you deal with the wait?

Currently querying book 1 and writing book 2 and no matter how much I distract myself the waiting months on end to more then likely get rejected is driving me insane.

Lets try opposites [pjotv]

To those who loved the show:

What's something you disliked about it?

To those who hated it:

What's something you liked about it?
