How do you respond to people that say “if you have nothing to hide”?

My town recently installed a handful of cameras. We’re a small town, so it flew under the radar in the approval process. I did a whole bunch of research via FOIA requests and made a post on our local FB page detailing what the town had purchased and things to consider. Most people were up in arms, but there is always someone asking “what are you worried about if you have nothing to hide?”

My partner doesn’t know the difference in spelling lose vs loose

It makes me a little crazy because she has a PHD so she should know. I don’t say anything about it, though, because who cares. That’s all, nothing crazy. Pizza made in my Ooni.

Why don't we have micromobility like Bird/Lime/etc?

I understand apprehension towards the scooter offerings, but why don't we have the rentable e-assist bikes that these companies offer? I know Loantaka has like 5 bikes, but can't we do any better than that? I live over in Morris Plains, and it would be far more enjoyable to commute on one of these bikes.

Looking to get a little more punch out of my Tao Tao

I happened upon this running Tao Tao CY50B with a clean title for $150. It was too good to pass up, even if the 50cc GY6 is not up to the task of moving all 250lbs of me. That said, I do want to try to get some more power out of it before it inevitably explodes and I re-power it. I don’t need to be setting any speed records, but I do live up a hill and this poor scoot can only motor me up it at about 12mph lol.

2027 Chevy Express Will Look A Lot Like The 2026 Model

Water is wet, the sky is blue, the sun rises in the east, bears shit in the woods, the Pope is Catholic, and the Chevrolet Express remains unchanged. God bless the most perfect vehicle.

Passport timeline web app - update pushed for deferred applications

Hello all,

I pushed a bigger-than-usual update to the passport timeline. If your application gets deferred for whatever reason (photo issues, extra docs, etc), you can now add those details and the new estimated print date. This update also added a deferred application analytics section.

There are some formatting issues I need to handle, but I wanted to push the update sooner rather than later to capture the data.

Happy trails!

Masonry work recommendations

I need some masonry done, and I am having trouble getting a contractor to show up or return calls. I have tried 2 guys so far that have been highly recommended, yet can't seem to nail them down. The first dragged things on for months before he stopped returning calls. Now this second guy said he'd show up, but didn't on the day we agreed, and now won't answer the phone.

Passport timeline post

The spring is usually a busy time for the passport office, and this spring is proving to be quite a busy one. There is apparently quite a backlog. If you have not heard anything from the passport office and your tracker just says "processing," you are just in it for however long it takes.

I have linked the passport timeline (as always). Please explore it, filter by your country, etc. and please contribute your timeline information. More data = better results.

I submitted a pic of my cat to CrunchLabs for a space selfie and I really like it, but the reflection makes it hard to see my cat.

Anyone else notice an uptick in people trying to squeeze in as late as possible?
