Still Finding Doubles

Even after all these years, decades even, I'll find myself mixing two songs I have not mixed together before. I was playing a fairly modern neuro set and decided to dip into some older, classic, tech step and old neuro. And I found myself mixing these two which I kept rewinding to hear the double drop over and over. Lol, I enjoyed it!

Grammatical Error?

In white description paragraph, it says "Lost of Temple of Nyx" but the location name in yellow says "Lost Temple of Nyx"

There are one too many "of" in there!

Subtitle Placement Can Be So Stupid

Like... why? She speaks in German, the show gives us subtitles to understand her, but then the subtitles cover up the subtitles to tell us she's speaking German...

Tofu Scramble Deluxe

Remember when I posted my second attempt at an egg style tofu sandwich (here: https://www.reddit.com/r/vegan/s/y8wuMKRD2c)? This is my 3rd attempt at tofu scramble. It was a lot of food but I was hungry and I enjoy making food that's new to me!

Scrambled tofu with partially caramelized onions, spinach, fake cheddar cheese, some Italian seasoning and good ol' fashioned ketchup.

Also an avocado with large grains of sea salt.

The Hill: What to know about democratic socialists

It's mostly about the DSA specifically. But nice to see unbiased coverage that doesn't try and mischaracterize it, in order to bash it.

A snippet:

On its website, the DSA describes democratic socialism as “a system where ordinary people have a real voice in our workplaces, neighborhoods, and society” and outlines a push for collective ownership of “key economic drivers that dominate our lives” — pointing to energy production and transportation, Medicare for All, police defunding, and the Green New Deal as among its goals.

“People want to expand high-quality public transit, that people want universal childcare, people want to raise minimum wage to a living wage. All these things are very popular when people hear that these policies are even on the table,” Siddique said.

Kitten Suck Puddle

My first kittens! While our first cat was left in a shoebox on our doorstep in the early 90s, and I adopted my second cat from my roommate when she had to move… Both cats were at least a year old when they fell into my lap. This is the first time dealing with a kitten, and we have two!

My previous cat whom I will forever love dearly lived until he was 18, but had renal failure, kidney problems, and it was a heartbreaking, difficult challenge to decide if I was choosing to not allow the vet to take his life for my sake or his. When the vet convinced me his life was going to be extremely miserable going forward, and the fact that we were at a clinic where there was a beautiful field and garden outside, where they said they could let him spend his last few minutes, and where they could also administer the medication's for him to go to sleep forever, I relented. Aside from the instant startled jerk when they brought the syringe cold from the refrigerator to him, he seemed to fall asleep peacefully...

When I started this post I didn't intend to speak so much about my previous cat, I'm sorry. It's just to say that having new kittens I almost have PTSD worrying about if they are healthy. The gray and white one has been kneading and sucking on the blanket quite a bit, his orange and white brother not so much. This was the first time we saw them do it together. They do everything together, and I mean everything! Play fight together, eat together, in the same bowl even though they have their own bowls, drink out of the same water at the same time, they even use the litter box at the same time despite us trying to stop that! Where one goes, so does the other.

Every day they surprise us with something that is more cute than ever before. And we've spent our lives with other cats, and watch tons of funny cat videos. And yet still, our own kittens continue to bring us more joy than we could have imagined.

If you read this novel of a post, thank you for your time. I hope I didn't bring the mood down too much speaking of my last Cat. It's really impossible for me not to talk and think about him.

But I promised all three, I will never Think any less of or have any less love for my previous cat just because I have two new kittens, and to the kittens I promised I will always love them to the fullest as well, no matter how much of my heart and mind is owned by my previous cat. I somehow have enough love for all of them.

"Eating Animals" by Jonathan Safran Foer

I'm currently reading it, it's very good. And the reason I post about it is because I've seen lots of posts from people asking some form or variation of why people say they love animals but still eat meat.

The very beginning of the book already does a great job explaining it.

It brings you into a family that eats meat and explains just why it's so important and impactful to them. And what it means for the son in the family (the author) who becomes a dad himself and how he sees from a new perspective, when it's now his job to feed his child, why and how food is so much more than just what you eat.

Highly recommended!

I got my copy from a Little Library. You can find your copy here: https://openlibrary.org/works/OL17798893W/Eating\_animals?edition=key:/books/OL26388454M

I'm Top Mercenary. Now What?

Will another Mercenary eventually knock me out of the number one spot automatically after a period of time - just like the balance of power changes automatically in the world? Or can Iphito find me, kill me, and take my spot even if I hit continue to respawn at the last auto save?

Vegan Egg Sandwhich

The first meal I'm trying to master after becoming vegan is my breakfast egg sandwiches. The first and only thing I could think of was scrambled tofu since I didn't think it was possible for tofu to have the same texture and consistency as a single fried egg.

I'm sure this is the most normal of normal for seasoned vegans but one day it just hit me… "Why not just fry big thin slices?!" lol. So that is what I've been doing and I love it!

I have occasionally added beyond sausage patties either into the sandwich itself or on the side. My next attempt will be to use the fake bacon made from mushrooms by MyBacon.

I also generally have avocados either thinly sliced on top or on the side as well. But here is my latest attempt with large thin sliced tofu before any garnish (ketchup or avocado or bacon…)

I also made sure that the bread was vegan, one of the many shocks I have had learning about things that I never thought could ever contain animal products.

Death Veil: Acquire or Not?

In short: who here uses it, who doesn't? And why?

Just installed The First Blade DLC and before I even went to the starting mission I saw the brand new ability - Death Veil.

Heeeeck yeah, I first thought! I always hide bodies I assassinate at forts and ruins and the like, so this is an amazing quality of life ability!

But then I started to think how a huge part of the fun of playing as an assassin (for me anyway) is hiding the bodies.

Plus, while this game obviously isn't based in total reality - automatic disappearing bodies seems to me a HUGE step into the supernatural. I'm already using Shadow of Nyx with the Pilgrim set - which feels like a total supernatural cheat. But at least I can remove it anytime I want, and I can actually still get caught while using it.

I can of course reset my abilities if I acquired but changed my mind about Death Veil but I'm not wild about spending money and time re-adding everything else back.

Maybe someone can convince me either way before I begin the DLC?

Thanks fellow Assassin's!

The Way Ubisoft Handled Dialogue - AMAZING!

1,200 cinematic dialogues, totaling 25,000 lines, spanning 30 hours!

My question was spawned by the fact that they have unlimited side quests where people talk to you for help. I wondered if they ever repeat or is Ubisoft always recording more and more dialogue for the game. And how is there unlimited Merceneries?

Well, unlike how terribly Starfield used Procedural Generation (sorry, Bethesda fans!), Odyssey has INSANE ways to use it! I love it!

It's a 5 year old presentation so maybe most of you know all this already, but it not, I highly recommend watching this!

Is My Issue With Software, OS, computer or thumb drive?

Recently I've been having more issues with my thumb drive connecting to Rekordbox. Not only does it not show up in the software, most times it also does not show up in my Finder. Though a couple times when not appearing in the software it has in the finder.

I'm not sure if this is an issue with my thumb drive itself; i've completely erased it and reformatted which will allow it to work for a bit but then the issue will eventually happen again.

Maybe I have too many songs on it? Over 7000. A few times I have used the thumb drive to not only play music off of but also to record onto simultaneously. It has always worked, the recordings are there, they play just fine. But maybe that's doing something to the flash memory?

My set up: SanDisk Cruzer 64GB USB 2.0 drive, M1 Max studio with OS 15 (Sequoia) and the latest version of Rekordbox.

Have I 100%ed The Base Game?

I used MapGenie to help verify if I've missed anything. I can't find anything I've missed. I haven't started the Lost Tales of Greece (blue "!") yet or Fate of Atlantis. I want to be sure I've cleared every location and done every gold "!" side quest first.

Here is a video where I go around the entire map, zoomed in so you can see every location.

It Can't Even Answer This...

While driving I asked CarPlay to let me know the day of the week. It's reply?

<i>"I'll search the web for that after you're done driving."<i>

  1. it needs to search the web for that answer? 2) I need to be stopped to get that answer?

This Is How I Know I'm Obsessed

I've only purchased 3 collectors edition guide books for games. Odyssey is that third purchase.

It's not the super ultimate white or black versions, but I'm excited to get it! Still sealed!

After My Platinum, Here's My Gripes

I love the game! But I have a few gripes:

Parkour - I generally love it, but it seems to mess up in the same worst way at the same worst time, all the time. If I need to climb my way out of enemy territory, almost every time one of several problems will happen: my character will no longer be able to climb for some reason, if she is able to climb she somehow avoids the top in front of her and said move sideways over to a portion of the wall that is taller so she has to keep climbing. This means she is a sitting duck for all the arrow attacks. The same can be said for dropping down. Went out in the wilderness it's pretty easy to drop down but for some reason in enemy territory she just hangs there. And finally, when running, she always seems to bump into things and start climbing something I had no intention of bumping into or climbing on.

Boat Attacks - Ramming / cleaving is great, I love hitting circle (I'm on PlayStation) to "drift" making an immediate turn to ram from the side. But I've noticed almost half the time that when I need to shoot arrows and spears after it, the game aims everyone to the opposite side of my ship from where the enemy is. I've pushed my joystick in the other direction and have had to do that several times, basically fighting the game, yelling at it "why do you think I want to shoot in that direction?! Into the empty ocean?! The enemy is on the other side!

Enemy Awareness - not all the time, not even a full half the time, but a lot of the time I'll be sneaking around, and even if I watch an enemy for a long time, the moment I approached them, that's when I start moving away or turn completely around right at me. even went in crouch and moving slow and stats and abilities further silencing my movements. It happens in such a similar way each time that I've come to the conclusion that that's just how the game is programmed to have enemies turn around when you get close to them. At least sometimes, because it doesn't always happen.

Mission objective clarity - there have been a handful of times when I am told to return to someone but I don't see their icon anywhere, and the top left doesn't say where exactly they are. This isn't the same as the start of a mission where the whole point is for you to explore and discover it on your own based off of descriptions. Why is it that usually we get that very large gold square with the intricate design inside of it while other times, still in guided mode, we get nothing? Again, not including the missions where the whole point is to seek something out yourself based off of clues.

Visual clarity - And related to the above… How come icons can be so difficult to see? When where I need to go is out of frame of where I'm zoomed in on the map, they're usually should be a tiny icon with arrows at the very edge of the screen directing me on where to move the camera; north, south, east, west… But even knowing that's supposed to be there and looking for it, I have such a hard time ever finding it. mostly that's because the icon is behind all the other UI elements or it's just way too similar in color to the land mass that it's over. That's the same for when I set custom weight points and I'm out in the world, seeing the marker with its brackets can be near impossible when it's in front of bright skies, bright buildings, bright sand, etc. I wish they could add a drop shadow or blackout line… Something!

There are a few other things. But I don't want this post to come across as being negative to the game. Overall I loved it. After all, I spent over 200 hours in the game, and got the platinum. And just about every game has got some kind of issues.

4 Years, 5 Months. Finally Platinumed!

Part of the reason it took so long was I quit playing after beating the main story and the beast quests. But a couple weeks ago I picked up the controller and played the game from scratch again (obviously not having to worry about the trophies I've already gotten).
