Power out?
I guess it’s the wind and rain from this storm, but anyone else without power?
I’m over near Lynnhaven mall / bow creek.

I am trying to figure out if I should supplement with creatine. I’ve read stuff about how it can help with cognitive function especially at my age (mid 40s).
But can’t figure out what kind or how much. I’d rather take a gummy or something than blend powder into a drink.
I’ve tried searching Reddit and Google but I’m inundated with so much info and ads that I just give up.
So…anyone take this stuff or know about it? And what kind to take?
I love carrots and I have a big bag. I want to make roasted carrots. I’ve had some maple / mustardy ones and they were ok but I’m looking for your best. I want to be able to serve them with dinner later and then snack on the leftovers cold.
I’m clearly not boned up enough for this fight. Still level 1.
Is there a way for me to leave this area and go back to where I was before the ribbon cutting so I can practice?
I can’t seem to figure out how if so. Feels like I’m stuck having to fight him.
My therapist has suggested this to me before and I’m trying to brainstorm some different menus based on energy level and based on the day of the week.
Does anyone else use this strategy to organize options for yourself? If so, how do you do it?
Edited to add: Sorry my post was unclear. I mean menus like a to do lists for self care. I get overwhelmed by housework and cooking and laundry etc. Which do I choose? I end up doing nothing and getting very anxious and frozen. she suggested instead of thinking about all of them at once to just have some “menus” to choose from based on different factors - in my case energy level and sensory needs. So not just for food. ;)
Does anyone have recommended subreddits for weight loss / diet stuff?
I usually avoid them at all costs, but I’m in a health situation right now where I have to make some diet changes and lose some weight.
I want to make use of reddit as part of this project, but there are so so many weight loss / meal prep subs. And I’m sure some are toxic.
If it matters, I’m in my 40s and likely in perimenopause on top of some other chronic health issues. All of my health things would be helped with exercise so I’ve got that figured out but the food is where I’m struggling.
And if you have subs you would NOT recommend, I’d like to hear those too. Thanks!
I recently filed for FMLA with my job so I could take days off here and there to deal with the physical part of burnout plus some chronic health conditions. That was already a huge hurdle but I did it.
Today there are some extra things we’re expected to do before and after work. Everyone is doing this extra stuff but I’m dealing with burnout symptoms and I know if I don’t protect myself I’ll end up getting sick and having to miss a lot more work.
So I told my bosses that I can’t do those extra things today. In order to do my actual job I have to cut out the extra things.
I know I’m doing the right thing for myself, but I feel ashamed and embarrassed that I can’t do what everyone else is able to do. These extras are small things but anything extra can be the straw that breaks the camel’s back for me.
I can’t help but feel ashamed that I can’t meet all the expectations like my colleagues. I just want to blend in. I feel like people must think I’m annoyingly delicate. How do I shake this constant criticism of myself?
The only exercise I’ve ever “enjoyed” is lifting weights. In order to do that, I need to go to the gym. I have trouble getting to the gym because of all the mental labor it requires for me to get there:
- do I have clothing that’s not going to drive me insane or make me feel self conscious?
- do I have a towel to wipe sweat?
- do I bring my own water bottle or just drink from the fountain?
- what if the things I want to do aren’t available?
- do I clean the machines before AND after use? Or just after?
- what do I do with my hair?
These are just a few of the things that pop into my head and exhaust me before I can even get to the gym.
Anyone figured out this part of being a human? I need to move and exercise.
