What are Sherwin Williams sample quarts good for?

I know they’re intended for testing colors only, but it seems a shame to waste so much paint.

Does anyone have any information on what base paint is used — or perhaps more importantly, what binders/mediums/etc are missing? I would like to know what the ACTUAL limitations of this paint is.

It would be good to know what applications it could be successfully used for — furniture? Indoor murals applied to a premium SW paint base? Wooden toys? Etc?

I have asked a few SW employees, but none seem to have any information beyond the company policy of not recommending the paint for anything other than sampling.

I made a pearl necklace inspired by a “pearl necklace”

Teehee. Just for fun and to be silly. Unfortunately, I can not resist a pun

How do you calculate your beadwork prices?

For the first time ever, I’m planning to make some of my beadwork available to purchase, and I’m wondering how to calculate my prices. I will be selling directly, but I’d like to keep to option of wholesaling to retailers open.

I can calculate my costs by adding my material costs to my hourly rate, but to cover miscellaneous overhead costs, admin time, and profit, should I multiply this number by… 2? 2.5? 3? 4?

So I’m curious:

- What hourly rate do you pay yourself for beadwork?
- What formula do you use to determine retail price?

Pics of some of my beadwork above :)

Thank you all!

In search of a new default hairstyle…

Hello! I have hip-length curly hair (see above) and I am looking for a new default daily wear hair style. I like my hair completely out of the way, so I almost always wear it in a simple twisted bun fastened with a single hair stick. I normally use just a plain thin brass stick, though I have some fancier and heavier sticks that I wear sometimes. (See above) It’s perfect — out of the way, easy, fast, comfortable, and relatively chic.

The problem is… I have a baby now, and I’m often holding him over my shoulder in a way that makes me afraid I’m going to poke his eye out with the hair stick. I would be so devastated. I’m really afraid I’m going to hurt him, but I don’t know what to do. I would love to learn a new (but similar) hair style, OR find a hair stick (or clip?) of some sort that wouldn’t be hazardous.

ALSO, in addition a default daily style, I’m also looking for a way to fasten my hair while mountain biking. It must be completely contained, as something like a braid could easily get caught on tree branches (or the bike), which could be terrible. Currently, I do the same bun/stick as above, but just really low on my skull (so my helmet fits) and further secured with two hair bands so that the stick doesn’t get jostled out on trails. This mostly works, but I like to bike on fairly dangerous trails, and I am a little worried about having a metal spike attached to the base of my skull during a crash… It seems like I should secure my hair in a safer way…

So, any ideas for either the everyday hair style OR my mountain biking style?

Thanks!
