Curators …
Hey, my frustrated morning thoughts …
… it is soooo hard to get heard. You have a good song with its own character. Curators listen more than one time. And then: „too unconventional.”
So everybody wants something special… but not too special? Why everything must sound like heard before? Don’t we have enought music sounding the same?

My song in blog of Austin Town Hall - OMG!!!
I am still processing this, but they just reviewed my new demo and compared it to a mixture of Wedding Present and Chairs Missing era Wire.
Honestly, as a self-made musician from Germany, seeing your track on a big US blog like ATH feels absolutely crazy. I did not have this comparison on my radar at all, but wow... I am just super proud today.
You can read the review here:

And if you want to listen to the song, here is the Bandcamp link:

Just wanted to share this win with you guys. What do you think, does the comparison fit?
I still can´t belive it ...

How to trick TikTok's geo-targeting?
Hi Sub,
I´m lost in the geo-targeting of TikTok... I made a new song here in Germany and I believe my target audience is more in the UK or USA instead of Germany.
So, when I do a post (I also tried with VPN), 95% of the 300 viewers come from Germany or Austria... and just about 2% from the UK and USA.
There isn´t any guarantee that my post will run better over there of course, but I think that people in the UK/USA might be a bit more open to this specific style of music than the local audience here.
Does anybody have experience with this "problem" to bring a post out of the borders of its own location? Or is it possible to "train" the TikTok algorithm over time just by using the right hashtags and SEO?
Cheers, Meik

Vegas No.8 - Partycrasher
Hey everyone,
After a 3-year break, I was just fed up with the polished, sterile unit-sound on streaming platforms. So I went 100% DIY on this new track.
I wanted that raw '80s/'90s alternative grit back—where a mix actually breathes and you can hear human mistakes. A curator just told me it blends a heavy underground bassline with a melodic hook, which pretty much nails what I was going for.
The song is an underdog story about a bunch of nerds crashing their bully's party. The hand-drawn artwork (yes, that’s a cow in a trashed living room) is a deliberate homage to old underground/post-punk covers.
Check out the vibe and let me know what you think. Always happy to chat about the production side!
Cheers Meik
