She thinks she’s a mini puma or a bat!? 🦇

Sometimes I get mini puma vibes and sometimes she gives bat vibes. 😂 I love her either way.

I adopted this sweet girl yesterday!

Meet Priscilla, or Cilla for short. 🖤

She’s 2 years old and was found as a stray in a rural area. Someone brought her to the shelter after she was attacked, leaving her with a wound on her back and a dislocated tail. After seven days, no one claimed her.

The moment I got to her cage, I knew we needed each other. After losing both of my cats over the past year, my condo has felt soooo empty.

Now Cilla is safe, loved, and has a warm place to heal. She’s super sweet.

ValuJet #592 - It’s been 30 years today. 😢

Today marks 30 years since ValuJet 592 crashed into the Miami Everglades.

On Saturday, May 11, 1996, a ValuJet DC-9 (N904VJ) operating MIA > ATL crashed into the Florida Everglades 10 minutes after departing due to a fire in the cargo compartment. The fire was caused by mislabeled and improperly stored chemical oxygen generators.

All 110 people on board were killed (RIP).

The NTSB report placed responsibility for the accident on three parties:

-SabreTech, for improperly packaging and storing hazardous materials.

-ValuJet, for not supervising SabreTech.

-The FAA, for not mandating smoke-detection and fire-suppression systems in cargo holds as recommended in 1988 after a similar incident with American Airlines #132, an MD-80 that experienced an in-flight fire shortly before landing at BNA.

ValuJet was grounded by the FAA on June 16, 1996. It was allowed to resume flying again on September 30, on a very limited schedule, but never fully recovered from the crash.

In 1997, the company acquired AirTran Airways. Although ValuJet was the nominal survivor, the merged airline took the AirTran name. ValuJet executives believed that a new name was important to regain the trust of the flying public. AirTran made little mention of its past as ValuJet.
