Sprouts Job Fair inside Doubletree Mission Valley in San Diego

They’re planning a new store somewhere in SD but I’m was impressed about the lobby and the conference center inside. Bonus, there’s a MTS Trolley and a strip mall next door.

For me there is something contemporary about sitting in bed with a handheld radio, winding down with BBC R 3.

I know classical isn't everyone's taste, but for me this is a feeling. I don't know if I would spend my evening any other way.

*The night is dark. All through the home,

A quiet settles, soft and deep,

As shadows stretch and minutes roam,

And breathing shifts to match the sleep.

The house grows still as hours pass by,

A gentle easing of the day,

Until the stars fill up the sky,

And all the noise has slipped away.

The night is here. The dark is deep.

The final lamp begins to dim.

It is time to yield to quiet sleep,

And sing the world a resting hymn.*

Penny at Kikiwaka

I like "Penny and the chibi scouts", I feel like Penny would befriend the villain kids and Oscar would be freaked out by that because of their reputation. I also like how he tries forcing her to go to camp because it seems child friendly but really...it's chaos. Molly would be making arts and crafts the whole time, wouldn't she?

Dumbing down, political theater or midterm distraction

When you're thinking about the Stanley Cup won by the North Carolina state capital, clearly the democrat governor is not gonna be happy if their local ABC O&O is subjected to political theatre and a midterm distraction. The wild thing about this unusual retaliation is about the critique from both Jimmy Kimmel and the hosts of The View plus Benny Johnson who triggered this Charlie Kirk conversation which otherwise not facing backlash from him. Added the fact u have a new Disney CEO who's from the theme park business and ABC News is just a small corner of the kingdom with 8 stations which otherwise in comparison to the ESPN and the core entertainment business. If Brendan Carr the FCC chairman have children which otherwise attacking a company that is the leader of family entertainment and in case he has friends who are sports fans which otherwise both ABC and ESPN are the carrying both the Super Bowl and the CFP National Championship which otherwise a lot of people watched live in real time. Carr should look at the mirror, does his children love Bluey and Mickey and in case of Carr's friends do they look forward to the upcoming football, hockey and basketball season? And even if Disney has the appetite to buy local ABC station, will there be political roadblocks? Consider when AT&T merging with Time Warner, Trump disliked CNN and yet the Supreme Court favor AT&T over Trump which otherwise it's a free speech issue. Yes it's a cable network case, but will this repeat itself because most of the Supreme Court cases rejected Trump multiple times. Will Disney prevail in court, well it might be but there's no way that the MAGAs will win again and again even if u take on a Mickey Mouse organization which otherwise it's baseless and dumbfounded.

Travel question: Can my radio pass the TSA security scanning?

Im planning to travel to Buffalo and into Canada, can my Best Buy HD Radio able to pass security when I remove my devices into the X-Ray machine before I boarding the airplane? Same thing applies to cargo, but should I worried about radio interference on an airplane?

Post 39% cap bypassing, will Nexstar merger with Tegna succeed or fail after the FCC deregulation response?

If they make the ratings right or sell several Texas stations, they will come or make the cutback. So here we are Nexstar decided to bypass the Directv lawsuit even if the Red GOP controlled Texas isn't part of the lawsuit by make that promise in their home market of Dallas/Fort Worth launching a primetime newscast on their CW O&O despite the court order prohibiting Nexstar to integrate the Tegna assets not just the overlap markets but also in non-overlap markets like Phoenix which Nexstar is doing the same by adding a primetime newscast as well. But if the FCC is cutting the red tape which is the 39 percent cap, will those promises of more newscasts and additional divestures will kill those lawsuits? In case of DFW, they have an independent station which carries local Mavericks and Wings basketball games but they sold that station and keep both WFAA and The CW O&O will they operate standalone unless if your Scripps since they have an Ion O&O or Sinclair whose sidecar owns an EstrellaTV affiliate which replaced the Tegna one that converted to an English station carries both the basketball teams. Sure Texas and Arizona aren't part of the lawsuit but depending on the merger outcome and the midterms as a key selling point for a new newscast, well it depends of the viewpoints and ratings.

Blackmail politics, either California shuts up settle or we leave California

IDK how many people watched the new CBS News Atlanta on Channel 69, but the new political threat seems turning into a blackmail political theatre. Rob Bonita might have the anti-Trump advantage but when David Ellison the new owner decided to take political hostage either settle their 12 state lawsuit or move out of the Golden State which might be a tax incentive whack a mole if they move to a red voted state. Tennessee is a unusual move in since Skydance doesn't own a CBS station unless they scoop up a Nexstar station in Memphis in event of the Nexstar-Tegna merger did their own settlement which impacted the Memphis local news competition but Nashville is the most interesting shock as we seen in Starbucks (not politically, instead it was an economically a tax issue which otherwise freaked out their home state of Washington ala Boeing). Georgia may have the Turner offices in Atlanta where CNN was born plus the large studios desperate for new projects and Texas which just a CBS duopoly in the Dallas market will be a Wild West battle unless they want the Sinclair station in Austin as a sweetheart affiliation deal since the latter are still finding a M&A dance partner (Sorry David but Nexstar is not giving up the Tegna CBS stations in San Antonio and Houston.). But there's hope, IATSE and DGA needed conditions which is an unusual surprise unlike the SAG-AFTRA and WGA unions who opposed the deals and yet AMC and Regal's owner Cineworld is supporting their 30 film theatrical release plan which is a costly promise which Bonita called it ridiculous (MTV reference there). The question is it about big tech competition (Oracle might be the savior there) or abusing power when it comes to entertainment and news content, a CNN spinout might please the democrats there but is it enough? Is Nexstar gonna be the new Hollywood player if they added a studio and addition cable networks in regards to The CW and local CBS stations in a swap? Is David Zaslav gonna sweat on the ticking fee by October or face a due of a $7B break up fee that the Ellisons have to pay? Next summer's court battle might be a double Hollywood cliffhanger but the challenge is, how long will big tech is continue to will again and again if Wall Street continues to shun old media again and again? To be continued, maybe?

Divestiture day, Can Rob Bonita look at the local tv stations impact on network relationship?

While the Nexstar-Tegna merger is just small potatoes compare to the PSKY-WBD but remember Nexstar bought The CW 4 years ago from the latter 2 companies and recently changed 6 of their former CBS affiliates into CW O&Os. But if Rob Bonita is the key resistance to the Trump administration 2.0 thanks to 2 merger lawsuits in such cases impacting the media industry led by California, will an asset swap really gonna work? Added to recent reports about the NFL opt-out clauses which PSKY said there would delay the negotiations until 2029 depending on the outcome of the merger battles, will this political football will make it's case against the increasing tide of big tech competition peeling away key major sports rights. If the local CBS stations on the Nexstar-Tegna side might be the salvation of the state AG settlement as well as some cable networks and sports rights on the PSKY-WBD side might be a key play here. No matter which outcome what we gonna see, a better balancing act between TV and online might be a better solution, good luck on your mission Rob.
