He was practicing law (by all accounts successfully) when Fiona died. He took over his dad's business when dad died but business was never his passion, and he already had a profession. When he made mistakes and got removed from the board and his salary cancelled, why was it that they were forced to live off Trixie's wages? Why was it never even contemplated that Matthew should pick up work as a lawyer to pay the bills and make a dent in the debt?
Any interesting themes, activity ideas, organizational tricks, etc. -- any party ideas that you've come across that turned out to be fun for the kids (and preferably not disastrously chaotic for the adults)?
Edit: Top AND bottom 3 is a lot of work... feel free to just give your TOP 3 in every category! or any combination you wish!

BONUS - MOTHERS:
there are too many mothers to provide a list, but if you have anyone in mind, who are some of your favorites (and/or least favorites)?
One of my favorites is how, when Trixie spirals into alcoholism, it's largely due to her breakup with Tom, but it's ALSO right around the time Cynthia returns as a nun. Because of Cynthia's new role, Trixie feels a distance from her, and she feels awkward confiding in Cynthia as she might have done before. That feeling of having lost a friendship, or that the friendship had changed, contributes to her loneliness. Jenny is no longer there, Chummy is no longer there, Nurse Mount has her own secrets... some of the supports that Trixie would have relied upon previously are gone.
I just thought that the timelines for all the characters worked really well for Trixie's alcoholism plotline. They were all seamlessly woven together to contribute to Trixie's isolation, which is a factor in her turning to alcohol.
Obviously not everyone will agree, but by most objective metrics (ratings, streaming dominance, # of seasons), the Office has been the more successful of the two shows.
What makes it a better show?
