do i look intimidating/unapproachable
hi! i'm a 23 y/o gnc/nonbinary lesbian. it's going to be a long post so please bear with me!
i always knew that i liked women. had a few relationships with women as well. but after a failed lesbian relationship (which was totally my fault) there was a 3 year period where i thought i was bi (i think i craved the external validation of visibly being in a relationship) and i dated several men. throughout my uni life even though i've flirted/went on dates with other women and did my best to keep in touch they just didn't follow up and i thought there was a problem with me. i used to present much more feminine but that ended up with me being the "bisexual girlfriend of a straight dude" every damn time and it didn't sit right with me. idk how best to explain it, i wouldn't mind being a girlfriend to a girl but being a girlfriend (or even a boyfriend) to a boy just felt disgusting. it just did never sit right with me. so safe to say, the easy to obtain relationships with men i've had didn't last long and i was just. bf surfing. that made me miserable. the pics go from the most recent to the oldest with the last few belonging to the time i identified as a bisexual.
the thing is, after coming to terms with my lesbianism and regaining confidence i tried to talk to women again yet i was still unsuccessful. i am 160 cms (i think 5'2?), have a "high pitched yet not squeaky, rather cute" voice and even though sparking up a conversation is a bit hard because of my anxiety, after i warm up i am naturally very chatty. i like to support people and be there for them, i made some stupid mistakes and learned my lessons the hard way. i really want a girlfriend and i believe i have grown enough to be a dependable partner, yet even though i try to approach people whom i have a mutual interest with, after a while i keep getting ghosted. i wonder if it's because of my appearance or they deem me as a boring person (or i just simply couldn't find the one i'm supposed to 'click' with?) what could i be possibly doing wrong? is there anything i need to change with how i present myself?
i don't ask for attention or validation. any advice other than dating apps would be very helpful. i also live in a small town so there aren't any queer spaces let alone a lesbian space available which really narrows down my chances.
