Do spaghetti pieces actually work well as nib replacements or is it just a meme?

I have wacom intuos m and I fear the day all my plastic nibs become unviable. I don't want a permanent solution or buy Wacom's nibs (I'm 100% sure they're overpriced and I don't want to deal with delivery); if spaghetti nibs don't break every two seconds and don't harm tablet's pen in any way, I'll use that all the time.

Examples of poached eggs I make, what mistakes can I possibly make?

I really don't understand how can I cook them better, can anyone give an advise (last photo are all poached eggs I overcooked or broke

How I cook poached eggs:

1 - break eggs and from shells pour everything into tiny bowls.

2 - gently pour each egg into a ladle half-full of vinegar water from sauce pan (vinegar-water proportions should be 90 grams of vinegar for every 1000 grams of water, but sadly it's often ignored due to our carelessness)

3 - gently put ladle with an egg into saucepan with calm hot vinegar water.

4 - boil the water in the saucepan (I know it should probably be simmered, but our stove just can't allow that, either our water is calm and hot or is boiling).

5 - after some time (we never measured it, around 2-4 minutes) clam the water and gently get a poached egg out with silicon spatula into free water (after that you can put some more poached eggs with previous steps).

6 - boil some more.

7 - when done, get it out (again, never measured the time, we just touch them with our CLEAN hands).

Why no one will ever acknowledge that not all eggs are great for poaching?

I worked in a brunch restaurant for a year now, I have to cook at least 40 poached eggs every day I work there. Some times, every egg I poached had their yolk out cooking without egg whites around it. For a long time I thought, I just sucked, so I looked up a ton of poached egg tutorials, I repeated them step-by-step, and I still got bad poached eggs. Only recently I realized that I am pretty decent at cooking them, it all depends on the egg, and that all tutorials never warn that not all poached eggs will turn out good, almost like "if you get bad poached eggs, you suck!". Why nobody will ever say that?

Can I get an advise about how to cook poached eggs?

I am working in the restaurant as a kitchen helper, one of my duties is to make poached eggs every day I work there. As of writing this I am heading home to my day off with around 40 really bad poached eggs: almost all of them had their yolks separate from the egg whites, and thus were exposed to the cooking water with vinegar.

We poach eggs in Ladles and vinegar water.

For the longest time I thought that some eggs just aren't great for poaching, because poached eggs are possible due to egg white sack around them and for a lot of eggs it's just isn't there or it's broken due to transportation, but now I decided that I might don't know how to make poached eggs (even though I've been making them for two years), because I can't just fuck up third or more of all of our eggs due to natural luck. What possible mistakes I can make during that process and how to avoid them? Or maybe please recommend me better ways to make poached eggs?

Is it possible to flash Linuxmint on a partitioned flash drive?

I want to install linuxmint instead of win11 on my RedmiBook 16. I have only one flash drive 128gb, it's partitioned in two: one uses exFAT file system, ~105gb, and other uses NTFS, ~15gb. On exFAT I saved personal data, NTFS I reserved for flashing, but it seems balenaEtcher and Rufus demand my entire flash drive to be flashed. Is it possible to flash only NTFS partition?

Will Kraken be angry at such clipping?

I'm making a large rocket to get mobile science lab into kerbin orbit and I really need both gyro thing and science buddy

u/friedfeesh_comics — 4 months ago

Can anyone reccomend me the best way to spend my science?

I think the problem is that I want mobile science lab but then I won't have enough science to get the engines an fuel tanks to get it to mun, where I hope I get like 1 billion cience with it

u/friedfeesh_comics — 4 months ago

I've managed to set my ship to home from Minmus using every last bit of my fuel!

Some context: Sience mode, Minmus expedition. I fucked up probably during orbiting Kerbin, I used landing stage fuel to fly get to orbit.

Fast forward, I landed in Minmus with ~360 m/s fuel left, my bad.

After several attempts, I figured that pericenter, when the ship's at its fastest, must face kerbin
I made an orbit where at pericenter ship barely touched the ground, created manoeuvre that allowed survivable Kerbin landing with the fumes I had left (170 m/s)

Wanted to share because I liked what I did there

Small test of Kerbal X i did on a whim

I fucked up somewhere along the way and now I have even less fuel than on my first crewed Mun landing that used more than half of all fuel it had just to orbit Kerbin

u/friedfeesh_comics — 4 months ago

My first Mun landing!

I hope I have enough fuel to go back...

Edit: I'm glad to report that the spaceship has successfully returned with nobody dying
