This was off the Get Sharp Album. When I bought the album, I was buying basically because the Damned started New Rose with the line "Is She Really Going Out with Him?" and I remembered that it was a radio hit. Apparently Joe Jackson liked the line and wrote that song.

This song Got the Time is a standout on the album. So much so, that Anthrax did a cover of it.

So this is what I think of when I hear Iggy Pop's song "Bored" which was recently posted here. I don't know if Pop was making a reference to Asheton or vice versa; but perhaps boredom was a thing in 1979. It couldn't have been worse than '77.

A lot of people that allegedly like Swans cite This Burning World as their least favorite album. I like it and I think that this song shows off Jarboe's vocals.

An engineer, a mathematician, and a statistician are staying in the same hotel.

Late at night, the engineer smells smoke and discovers the curtains in his room are on fire. He grabs the ice bucket from the hallway, fills it with water, dumps it on the curtains, and goes back to sleep.

A few minutes later, the mathematician notices his curtains are on fire. He carefully estimates the size of the flames, calculates the minimum amount of water necessary to extinguish them, measures it out precisely, pours it onto the fire, and goes back to sleep.

Then the statistician discovers his curtains are on fire. He pauses for a moment and says, “Interesting... but the sample size is too small.”

So he runs down the hallway setting fire to more curtains.
