garcia’s cream dip
ever since starting psych meds a couple years ago, my dreams have become strange and vivid, but also continuous; i.e. if i go back to sleep, i’ll pick up where i left off in my dream, or i’ll be in the same dream but at a different time. in these very dystopian dreams, there’s a restaurant that i am frequently at that has a dish for parties and groups called “garcia’s cream dip”. i think the implied euphemism here is widely known in the dream world, but i always recall it being very tasty. after finding this subreddit i decided to draw it, and had some time today.
garcia’s cream dip consists of soft serve/fro-yo in a bowl with a plate of freshly made waffle cone shards on the side as “chips”. there have been a few variations, including:
- toppings on the ice cream, à la fro-yo bar
- different flavors of ice cream, i remember one specifically with a slightly different name: “garcia’s dole whip dip”
- sometimes, the waffle shard chips came loaded with chocolate or other sauces
i have yet to try this, as i dont have a soft-serve machine, but i would very much like to someday eat it.

macaron ice cream sandwich
i’ve had macaron ice cream before, but i’d never made them before. when i saw the raspberry pistachio macaron ice cream sandwich post i had just finished making some chocolate oreo ice cream…and i had a leftover raspberry coulis…
i’m allergic to pistachio, so i just did chocolate raspberry instead. had them for dessert with friends tonight, and am happy to report they were delicious, as expected. sorry for the crappy photo, i promise they looked better in real life

crown burger
every time someone asks for utah food recommendations, i see crown burger suggested, and people are always raving about it in the replies. i find this so genuinely befuddling.
i’ve been to crown burger a few times but have always been disappointed. burger was dry, toppings didn’t seem too fresh, fries were mediocre. am i alone in this? have i simply been unlucky? do people just love the pastrami burger as a “utah novelty” or something? why are so many people brainwashed by crown burger? is this a psyop? please tell me i’m not crazy. maybe i’m a bad utahn.

“DON’T CALL ME AN UBER”
with my cat at the emergency veterinarian at 4am while a vet tech explained the costs of treatment/other scary stuff (obviously i’d already been very stressed) and then hear a woman start screaming somewhere else in the building. scared the shit out of both of us:
“I JUST NEED TO LEAVE. I DON’T CARE IF I HAVE TO WALK!!” * hard sobbing noises* “I’M IN PAIN AND I DON’T WANT TO BE HERE”
then, a man’s voice, more softly: “it’s okay, we can call an uber or something…”
“DON’T CALL ME AN UBER. I DON’T WANT AN UBER I WANT TO GO HOME” * more /very heavy/ sobbing noises*
the vet tech left, saying something about how they were already shorthanded, and didn’t come back for maybe 15-20min, while screaming and crying continued.
when she came back, she said “sorry, someone had a breakdown” and we continued our discussion.
when i was walking back out to the bathroom, i saw an employee coming out of the other bathroom crying and trying to compose herself. i didn’t see/hear more after that, but i am very confused about the whole thing (i know it’s not my business but oh well)

seems that lately (past couple weeks) there have been a lot less quality job postings appearing, or even just postings in general. even when i do find something to apply to, i haven’t been getting any response (not even automated rejections). not totally sure why this is happening
