I'm trying to better understand the changes in the new Gen 3. As far as I can tell, the difference is they got rid of the Arabic numerals, added micro adjustment, and the case is a little thinner. Are there any other differences? As far as I can tell the Gen 2 still has the ceramic bezel, 72h power reserve, same movement with silicon balance spring. The Gen 2 is $700 cheaper, I prefer the Arabic numerals, I do want the micro adjustment but not sure it's worth $700 and waiting weeks for the watch as the Gen 3 seems to be sold out everywhere. Would I be making a mistake buying a gen 2 if I like the aesthetics of it?

I've been experimenting with removing power steering on my car by just removing the belt. I like how it feels but I'm wondering if I would be able to react quicky enough with it to correct a slide. Will the steering lighten up in slide or will it be difficult to correct with no power steering?

That's a road I drive on every day and last week there were suddenly 2 spots where I got k band alerts on my R4 with only 1-2 seconds warning. I believe 1 was 24.124 and the other one was a different frequency ending in 6 iirc. Well there was nothing around there. No speed cameras, no cops, just some houses. So I drove by it again, this time with my R7, and same thing. Just 1-2 second warning before it goes full blast and drops away, and there's another spot on the road where the exact same thing happens.

I'm stumped what it could be. It's not a garage door opener because it suddenly popped at not 1 but 2 spots on the road, and goes off every time I drive by. It's not a speed camera as those are legally required to be marked here. It's not a "This is Your Speed" monitor. It's not a cop. What is it then?

2 spots on the same road that suddenly start giving off k band signals, they both appear on the same day, no visible devices on the road. Is it some kind of new hidden speed monitoring device they're rolling out? But then why are they on different frequencies? Anyone have a guess what it could be? Location is CT, USA

Suppose we get to a point in the future where AI is actually good at music. It can produce tracks. It can mix sets on the fly in reaction to the audience. Both better than humans can. The only human thing left in the techno experience then becomes the venue and the promoter.

Sounds horrible at first. But hear me out, if AI replaced DJs, we lose DJ idol worship. We lose everyone facing the front, phones out, trying to get a glimpse of the DJ. There is no forward or back in the dance floor anymore. You just can't make an AI the headliner and expect anyone to eat that up. The only way to stand out in the scene then becomes the venue, the crowd, the vibe.

Instead of people going to see a DJ they like, they go to the club that has the vibe they like. And the only thing left to do is to vibe with the crowd. There is no more coming just to see some DJ you worship. The only reason to come is that you want to party.

In some weird sense, wouldn't this be techno going back to its roots, when DJs were faceless, anonymous and not center stage, and the crowd is just there for the techno party and not to see a particular DJ? In some dystopian sense, this is techno going back to its roots. What's more dystopian industrial techno then a bunch of people going to listen to some electronic music produced by an AI? This is the dystopian future they fantasized about before coming true in front of our eyes
