Approved for carecredit on Saturday: should I pay down in small increments or pay in larger? I can’t pay it in full immediately.

Hello, I am trying to understand if it is better to pay like 150 toward my thousand dollar balance a month or pay the recommended $42 a month.

I have been struggling for years to build my credit up so that I can qualify for credit lines outside of Kovo and kickoff. I was approved for $1000 credit line on Saturday and I only applied because I needed to bring my dog to the vet as an emergency because she lost her eyesight.

Today I’m about to be using the remainder on her second opinion visit because I’m not just gonna let her possibly have a chance of seeing or keeping the remaining vision she has without checking.

I am just wondering if paying bigger chunks will help boost my credit score up or if I should follow the recommended payment schedule. I know that I should pay it all off at once but I am not going to be in that position to do so for a few more months so I’m thinking the 150 a month will hopefully be the better choice but I’m not sure.

AITAH for planning to move out when our lease ends even though my sister says it will leave her and her daughter homeless?

I (30F) live with my sister (27F) and her 5-year-old daughter. We split the major household expenses. Our lease doesn’t end until next year, but I’ve decided I don’t want to renew another lease together.
My sister is extremely upset about this. She says I’m selfish, that I’m going to leave her and her daughter homeless, and that I’ll be setting my niece up for failure because she may have to move after starting kindergarten.

I’m not breaking our lease or suddenly leaving. She has close to a year to prepare. The issue is that she seems to assume I’m obligated to continue living with her indefinitely because she currently can’t afford our household by herself.

She makes around $14/hour full-time. I’ve encouraged her to look into better-paying jobs she may qualify for with her GED, including 911 dispatch, corrections, government/city positions, etc. She says she likes her current manager and doesn’t really want to look elsewhere.

I’ve also suggested finding another roommate.
Her daughter’s father currently gives her around $400/month informally, and as far as I know, she has never pursued a formal child-support arrangement. I’ve suggested looking into that as well. She doesn’t want to.
But honestly, money isn’t even the primary reason I want separate households.

I feel like I’ve gradually become less of a sister/roommate and more like a second adult responsible for making her life function.

She frequently asks me to do things because she claims she “can’t” do them or doesn’t know how. When I refuse, she usually manages to do the exact same thing perfectly fine herself. It has happened enough that it feels like she defaults to getting me to handle things because it’s easier than figuring them out herself.
She also expects me to clean up after her pets. Her cat throws up? She tells me to clean it. Her dog pees in the hallway? Apparently I should clean that too.

Her explanation has frequently been that she works and I’m home. But I’ve been finishing my bachelor’s degree, applying and interviewing for professional jobs, and preparing to start graduate school. I also have my own responsibilities and pets.

There are constant double standards over personal belongings too.
She has gone into my bathroom and used my deodorant without asking because she didn’t want to buy her own. She expects things I purchase to be shared. She eats in my car without asking.
Today we took our cats to a vet clinic in her car. I started eating something and she immediately said:
“You’re disrespectful. I didn’t tell you that you could eat in my car.”
Meanwhile, she regularly eats in mine without asking.

She also expects us to have “family dinners.” If I say I’m not hungry or don’t feel like cooking, she’ll tell me that her daughter needs to eat and that I need to sit down and have dinner with them.
Obviously my niece needs dinner. But I’m her aunt. I’m not her parent. And I’m my sister’s sister, not her spouse.

There’s also a lot of yelling. My sister has told me to shut the fuck up in our own home, and when I don’t do what she wants, I’m frequently called selfish or disrespectful.

Recently, the subject of next year came up. When my sister realized I genuinely might not live with her anymore, she became furious.
She told me I was going to leave her homeless. She said I was setting her daughter up for failure. She told me she fucking hated me.
I mostly stayed quiet because arguing wasn’t going anywhere.
About 30 minutes later, she suddenly started talking about \*\*“when we renew our lease”\*\* and making plans for the next house as though the previous conversation had never happened. I didn’t agree. I just stayed quiet again.

I’ve recently finished my bachelor’s degree, I’m starting graduate school, and I’m pursuing professional career opportunities. I eventually want to relocate to another state, establish my own household, and build a life somewhere I actually want to stay long-term.
I don’t want to structure my career, where I live, or potentially the next several years of my life around keeping my sister’s household financially viable.

I love my sister and my niece. I don’t want either of them homeless. But I also don’t think that means I should have to remain my sister’s roommate indefinitely.
She has almost a year to prepare. She could pursue a higher-paying job, formal child support, another roommate, cheaper housing, or some combination
of those things.

I want to finish the lease I agreed to, fulfill my financial obligations, and then establish my own household.

AITA for deciding that when our lease ends, I’m moving on with my own life even though my sister says doing so will leave her and my niece homeless and that I’m selfish for putting my own future first?

Was extended a job offer, completed onboarding documents & background check: is it normal to have a period of radio silence afterwards?

I was accepted a job offer on August 5 with a start date of August 31 contingent on background check. The background check was completed on August 8 so last Saturday morning and I haven’t heard anything yet. I don’t know if this is normal or not but this is my first professional job and I’m just an anxious ball ready to start into my career.

I’m not sure if it’s normal for there to be like a silence.

Also, I’m trying to play around with learning exactly what the job ask for so I’m familiar with exactly what I’m doing alongside the skills. I already have so I’m just trying to make sure I’m not getting ghosted now and practicing for nothing.

I will say that my biggest worry comes from seeing my application moved to completed under the inactive portion of workday portal. My mind says I’m overthinking but in this job market sitting back and waiting can also cost you lost jobs if I were to get ghosted.

There is cold air coming out of the floor vents in our rental house, but the house itself is not cooling properly, what does this typically point to?

My landlord is less than helpful and our HVAC system only got down to 79 overnight one set to 73. It was at 90 to start off last night because of a whole mess and a hand basket that my landlord caused of being without power.

But my biggest issue is why is the coming out cold (73) at the vents but the house is not cooling properly? It is staying within 1° differential of outside. So currently it is 79 inside.

He has tried to ask me if the filter changed. Is there something that you did and I’m really trying to understand what could actually be causing this because we do the maintenance that’s asked of us. I change the filter every three weeks.

Also, I know that the master bathroom because this is a mobile home. The air-conditioning vents are on the floor. In the master bathroom, one of the air ducts is separated from the house by about 5 inches and I can see outside around it in my bathroom vent when I’m just walking by I can see sunlight.

Which is better for job search purposing: Claude or ChatGPT?

I personally have a subscription to ChatGPT plus and have had it for over a year now. It has helped me tremendously with learning different topics and just recently have I dabbled into Codex.

Throughout my job search, I keep seeing people mentioning Claude. I have started using the free version and I like what I see.

However, are they all that different from each other? Which do you personally prefer for tailoring résumés, creating cover letters, and overall memory retention?

I am looking for someone to help me simplify the process rather than having to go through and do it on my own manually for each application. Of course they all have flaws, but I’m looking for which one is the smartest in this sense.

How can I make my job search easier?

Goal Job(s): Data Analytics, Operations Support, Operations Coordinator

I have been trying to do everything right since I started searching in earnest on June 8th. I have gone across all sorts of different practices. I had to stop outreach to recruiters on LinkedIn after reaching my connection request limit, despite a bunch of them accepting my requests.

I have stopped using Indeed because it has been yielding too many DevilCORP phone calls. On LinkedIn, I still search, but many of the positions are older, reposted, or outside my experience level.

I just added HiringCafe on July 31st after learning about it that day. I am tailoring my searches to show me jobs that match my experience level, salary limits, location preferences, and most recent postings (primary focus on less than 3 days, then expanding).

I officially graduate on Saturday with my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and there's a huge job fair on Thursday that I am attending. I have three interviews with one company, which said they'd let me know my outcome this week.

I am also starting my Master's in Business Analytics later this month to keep my momentum up in school and help build my skill set in databases. Plus, my school has awarded me scholarships to continue my learning like this.

Do you happen to have any tips? TYIA!

[0 YoE, Unemployed, Supply Chain Analyst, USA]

I am targeting entry-level roles in supply chain planning and operations, but I have hit a wall in my job search. Despite submitting over 500 applications in the last month, I have only secured three interviews. I am looking for honest feedback on why my current experience in data entry, secretarial work, and retail might not be converting into more interviews for these roles. I recently graduated with my BSBA (Business Administration) in July 2026 and am starting an MSBA (Business Analytics) program this August. I want to understand if my resume is effectively communicating my transferable skills to recruiters or if there is a disconnect that is causing my applications to be overlooked.

Recently Completed Bachelors, I have applied to over 500 different jobs, why is this so damn difficult?

I have completely finished my bachelors degree courses and have received a letter of verification that I have completed the courses from my school. As I have completed degree in the summer semester, I have to wait until August for my degree to get conferred due to summer sessions being split and the campus having less faculty on site.

But needless to say, I am applying and have been applying for a month now. I have gotten 3 interviews & 2 completely ghosted me, while the other job was from a large distribution center that had found my résumé on LinkedIn and needs a few weeks to interview other people also as I was the first person the interviewed for this position.

But I do have a couple questions for seasoned professionals or anyone who has experience:

  1. After applying to a position and you have been waiting over two weeks, do you send a short follow up email stating that you’re interested and attaching your résumé so that if they don’t believe you’re a fit for that role they at least have it for other roles?
  2. During the time in which I’m waiting for my degree to be conferred, but I do have a letter of completion from the school, can I officially say I have my bachelors?

TYIA to anyone who provides answers all the advice I can get definitely is appreciated.

EDITED TO ADD:

Bachelors of Science, Business Administration

I had no internships, but I do have past job experiences with my last job being 19 months with the company. I am a late graduate. I’m 30 years old, it took me a bit to get here, but I finally did. My experiences are:

- Cashier (19 months)
- Data Entry (3 months, temp job)
- Secretary (25 months)

EDITED TO ADD:

This August I am immediately starting into my masters degree program for a business analytics (MSBA), so my goal right now is something along alliance of supply chain analytics.

1.09: I’m mad. Maybe for different reasons than others but I’m mad.

The fact that both Marshals and Dutton Ranch both decided to end with the boys getting abducted as me furious.

I understand that one is made for TV and then the other one is made for streaming. But dear God, did they have to make it so that both shows leave on the same type of cliffhanger? I’ve been wondering for over a month now if Tate will be safe now I am furious to know that I have to wait to find out if Carter will be safe.

Not to mention, this is the first time I have cried for Oreana, simply because I could see everything coming and she felt for just a moment that her dad was there for her. Even if he was the giant POS even I hated, she still did not deserve to have her dad get killed in front of her.

Joaquin hopefully realizes that this is not going to end up playing out how his mind is likely going when he called his daddy for help.

Yellowstone has made me fall in love with these characters throughout so many years now and I’m going to have to wait how long to find out if two of the underdogs will actually survive?

Carter & DR.

Honestly, I hate seeing it because it’s taking up too much time in these 42 minute episodes, but Carter is finally having his emotions come up after dealing with a bunch of shady activity in Texas (typical of Texas).

Think about it he’s been holding in:

- his bio parents dying
- John dying
- losing Yellowstone
- the first house burning down
- the cattle being killed (knowing he wants to cowboy this is one major reason I think he really got pissed)
- Oreana leading him on
- Dwight getting murdered in front of him
- Zena apparently going somewhere
- being picked on for trying to go to school
- harassed by the sheriff

And Beth and Rip has been so focused on the 10P that he has finally let those raging teenage hormones come out after going through so much in just 19 years of existence. What I can say is at least we are seeing more of what Carter is developing into than over on Marshals where Tate is just missing half the time.

I do have a feeling that with this next episode (1.09) it may lead into Carter opening up some more. Like finally admitting that Dwight was killed directly in front of him for no reason by the sheriff.

Foreshadowing? Everett? 1.8

“The Far Empty is a gritty, modern Western crime novel by J. Todd Scott, set in the stark Texas borderlands, that follows a teenage boy and a new deputy as they uncover dark secrets in their small town, leading them to a terrifying suspect: the boy's father, who is also the deputy's boss, the local sheriff.”

Watching episode 8 now, Whiskey Limits, the book that Everett is reading… it caught my interest seeing the synopsis of the book.

AITAH for putting my foot down after feeling like my sister treats me like a built-in babysitter/pet sitter instead of a roommate?

I (30F) live with my younger sister (27F). We originally moved in together because she needed help with bills. If I’m being honest, I never really wanted to be roommates, but I was pressured by family into doing it because they thought I should help her out.

We’ve now lived together for a while, and I’m at the point where I don’t want to renew our lease when it ends next year.

The biggest issue is that I feel like I’m treated more like unpaid help than an equal roommate.

She pays her half of the rent and bills on time every month, and I absolutely give her credit for that. But outside of that, I feel like most of the day-to-day responsibilities fall on me. She has several pets, and whenever she wants to go spend time with a boyfriend or friends, she often just leaves. She rarely asks if I’m okay watching her pets. It’s more of an assumption that I’ll take care of them while she’s gone. This happens so often that I finally told her I wasn’t willing to keep doing it for free all the time.

When I mentioned that I’d want to be compensated if I’m expected to regularly pet sit, she responded by saying she’d charge me even more if the roles were reversed and then made a comment about how family is supposed to be there for each other.

That frustrated me because I have been there for her. I’ve watched the pets countless weekends, handled things around the house, and tried to keep the peace. It feels like “family helps family” only applies when I’m the one doing the helping.

Household chores are another issue. I’ll often unload and reload the dishwasher, clean up common areas, and handle things that need to be done because otherwise they just don’t get done. She’ll sometimes start the dishwasher, but I feel like the overall responsibility for keeping the house running falls heavily on me.
Even small things become assumptions. For example, if one of the puppies has an accident and she doesn’t know which puppy did it, she’ll tell me to clean it up because I also have a puppy. It doesn’t matter that we don’t know whose dog made the mess.

She also has a 5-year-old daughter who lives with us part of the time. I care about my niece, but living in the middle of parenting conflicts and constant household tension has added to my stress. Not to mention she’s untreated for diagnosed ODD and ADHD.

The thing is, when life is calmer, I start feeling guilty about wanting to move out because she’s my sister. Then another week goes by where I’m expected to take care of responsibilities she doesn’t want to deal with, and I’m reminded why I don’t want to keep living together.

If she were just a regular roommate instead of my sister, I know I wouldn’t renew the lease.

I fully expect she’ll feel betrayed when I eventually tell her I want my own place because she can’t really afford to live alone right now. But I’m also tired of feeling like I’m responsible for making her life work at the expense of my own.

So…AITAH for deciding that I don’t want to keep living with my sister and for finally putting boundaries around what I’m willing to do?

Advice on how to improve my résumé? Also, any tips on keyword roles that fit into my degree for business administration that will not continuously yield me DevilCorp?

I am finishing my last course for my bachelors degree on July 6th. I have begun to search for jobs. I keep saying I do not have my bachelors yet as I don’t, but my advisor has told me they will work with me to get whatever companies might need to prove that I have my degree before conferral.

My biggest issue right now is I am trying to get myself into entry-level roles that have me working with data and learning operations. However, as I continue to job search, I’m struggling with companies that are known as DevilCorp reaching out to me. I have noticed some ways to avoid them, but they are everywhere.

I think since June 7, I have applied to nearly 300 positions and I am going within companies, using LinkedIn, using Indeed, and this past weekend, I even drove around in the closest city to me, which is about 40 minutes away and wrote down the names of companies with headquarters that I was driving by.

1.08 The Trailer for next episode…

I watched the trailer back about three times because I kept on missing the detail details on who exactly I was looking at screaming at the car. Maybe it’s because it was 2 AM but I had not noticed the gauze, so I know it’s Joaquin.

But my thought is, why is he screaming at the vehicle and who was inside of there that would make him scream in such a horrifyingly distraught manner? Also, if you pause it just right it look like there was a face in the driver seat, but I do wear glasses so maybe I am mistaken and just can’t see.

I am going to say, though I do not believe for one minute that Rob-Will is genuinely going to end up with the ranch. I told myself while watching this last episode he is exactly who Jamie was portrayed to be not exactly who Jamie was.

Professional BBA student seeking "fair chance" corporate career advice (DFW area + Florida future)

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice from those of you who have successfully transitioned into professional, office-based roles after navigating the legal system.

A little background: I’m currently finishing my Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and planning to start a Master’s in Business Analytics this fall. A few years back, I had a felony-level Manufacturing/Delivering charge, but I successfully completed deferred adjudication. I took it seriously, met every requirement, and was discharged early. Because the case was dismissed without a conviction, I’m in a better position than many, but I know the arrest record can still show up on background checks.

I’m currently focused on the North Texas area (specifically the major corridors north of Dallas) and am looking for corporate roles in operations, logistics, or data/business analysis (looking for ~$50k+ to start). I’m finding the standard job boards are flooded with 'DevilCorp' sales scams, and I want to avoid that entirely.

My questions for the community:

  1. North Texas Recommendations: Does anyone have experience with large, stable companies in the North Texas region that are known to be 'fair chance' friendly for professional/corporate roles (not retail/labor)? I’ve been looking at companies like Amazon, but I’d love other suggestions for legitimate, career-track employers.

  2. Relocation (Florida): I am planning to relocate to Central Florida in the next year or so. If anyone here has experience navigating the job market there with a similar background, I’d love to hear which industries or companies there tend to be more progressive regarding background checks.

I’m not looking for a handout; I’m looking for companies that value the resilience and discipline it takes to turn your life around. Thanks in advance for any leads or advice you can share.

Oreana & Rob-Will.

It just dawned on me while I was driving that we’ve never heard about Oreana’s mom yet. My brain was assuming she is not alive possibly, because if she is anything like Rob-Will she may have overdosed.

But if her mom is like some people I know in real life… the Jackson family could be seen as a threat, and the mom may have just fled away from them despite her desires for a relationship with her daughter.

I’m wondering if this might be one of the secrets that gets brought up during the battle of the secrets between Beth & Beulah.

AITAH for wanting to use my Disney Bounce Back offer for a solo trip instead of another family trip?

I (30F) am currently on a Disney World vacation with my sister (27F) and my niece (5F).

For context, I spent over $5,000 on this trip between flights, hotel, tickets, Lightning Lanes, dining, and other expenses. I love Disney and had been planning this trip for months.

The problem is that a large portion of the trip has been extremely stressful.

My niece has diagnosed ADHD and ODD. Throughout the trip there have been multiple public meltdowns, screaming fits, hitting, kicking, rude behavior toward people, and situations that have drawn attention from other guests. There were times when my sister got overwhelmed and yelled, which caused the situation to escalate even more. More than once I found myself walking away because I was embarrassed, overstimulated, or simply needed a break.

I want to be clear: I don’t hate my niece. I love her. But being around constant conflict and chaos for a week straight has been exhausting.

Tonight I mentioned that Disney is offering a Bounce Back discount for a future trip. I asked my sister whether she’d ever be interested in doing a sisters-only trip, or whether I should just use the offer for a solo vacation.

I explained that I really want a trip where I can relax, enjoy some peace and quiet, ride what I want, and not spend the whole time dealing with stress and meltdowns.

My sister immediately got angry. She called me a curse word and said she would never do a sisters trip. She also said that only “piece of shit parents” leave their children behind when they go on vacation.

I pointed out that plenty of parents take adults-only vacations, anniversary trips, girls’ trips, guys’ trips, and weekend getaways without their children. She didn’t agree.

Then the conversation got even worse. She told me that if I ever decided to take a solo trip, nobody would be allowed to take care of my dogs while she was living in the house, regardless of who was willing to help.

That part especially upset me because I’ve spent months helping take care of her pets. In the past, I’ve often ended up responsible for them without even being asked first. So it felt hypocritical to suddenly have pet care used against me because I mentioned wanting a future solo vacation.

Now I’m wondering if I’m being selfish.

AITA for wanting to use my Disney Bounce Back offer on a solo trip or an adults-only trip instead of another vacation with my sister and niece?
