Anyone else have a senior Ragdoll that’s an extreme picky eater?
My Ragdoll is 11 years old and, thankfully, she’s healthy. She’s been like this her entire life, though.
One day she’ll refuse a food completely. The next day she’ll eat the whole portion. The day after that she’ll only eat a third of it. There doesn’t seem to be any pattern.
She has never been food-driven. I’ve tried so many different foods over the years, and even my vet prescribed Mirataz to stimulate her appetite. It didn’t really change anything—she was still just as picky.
At this point I’ve mostly accepted that this is just her personality, but I can’t help worrying about what will happen if she ever gets seriously sick. If she’s already this fussy when she’s healthy, I’m afraid getting enough food into her would be a real challenge.
Has anyone else had a Ragdoll like this, especially one that lived a long life? Did they stay this way, or did you find anything that actually helped?

freshly milled flour

Has anyone switched from store-bought pizza flour to freshly milled flour?
I’m just getting into home milling and I’m curious if it’s worth it for pizza. I usually make Neapolitan-style pizza in my Ooni, and in the winter I use a pizza steel in my kitchen oven.
If you mill your own flour:
What grains or blends do you use?
Is the flavor or texture noticeably better?
Did you have to change your dough recipe compared to store-bought pizza flour (hydration, fermentation, etc.)?
Any beginner tips or mistakes I should avoid?
I’d really appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Cooling gear

I work in a hot kitchen and summer humidity absolutely kills my energy.
Has anyone here tried cooling vests, air-conditioned neck fans, or wearable cooling devices while working in a kitchen? Did they actually help on hot, humid days?

Trapping scared cat

Trying to trap a stray cat and looking for suggestions. He is very food driven — he can eat 3 cans of wet food mixed with dry food in one sitting. I’ve tried using his regular food, sardines, tuna, and Churu treats.

I tried the trap covered and uncovered. I also put small amounts of food in front of the trap, at the entrance, and in the middle to try to get him comfortable going inside.

This week I even tried using a cat carrier because he is somewhat friendly. I previously got 2 other cats into carriers that way by gently guiding them in. But this cat seems really scared of traps or anything similar. He won’t go near it and acts nervous right away.

Does anyone have suggestions for trap-shy cats? Any tricks that worked for you?

I need some advice. My Ragdoll is 11, and she has always been a super picky eater. We just did bloodwork and the vet says she is healthy, but she just won’t eat enough to stay strong.
She’s on Mirataz (2mg every 3 days) to help her appetite. She’ll eat a little bit of wet food or freeze-dried treats, but that’s it. I’m constantly worried about her getting weak.
I feel guilty—is it wrong to keep pushing her to eat like this? It feels like I'm always hovering over her. She’s a "social eater" and usually needs me to sit with her just to take a few bites.
Has anyone else been through this with a healthy but fussy senior? Does the Mirataz work for you on a 3-day schedule? I just want her to stay okay.
