Send Saturday

Got some full sends in this morning. Was hitting triples (and also the tree lol). My steering is worn and loose so I need to get that fixed so I can keep a straight line easier.

Anyways, I'm having issues with the ec5 connector popping out. I know I'm full sending it but even doing small jumps it wants to pop out. Anyone know why that would be and how to fix it?

After the third jump the motor cut out and wasnt wanting to turn the wheels. It was super choppy. Got it home and pulled it apart (only live like 3 mins from the park). It's definitely the motor. Did I just get the motor a bit too hot? I'm pretty new to RC so I've never had that happen before either.

Bad battery

Ordered 6 ovonic 5200mah batteries and had 3 of them bad out of the box or not reading voltage on two of the cells. Anyone else had this issue? I wanted to get SMC but the batteries I wanted were all out of stock everywhere I looked. Am now thinking I'll spend the extra cash and get premium batteries.

Vorteks Upgrade

Added granite shock towers and typhon 6s shocks. I like the look of the vorteks body better than the granite so I 3d printed a body mount adapter to use the rear granite shock tower with the vorteks body mount. Turned out pretty good! (It has senton wheels on it cause that's what I bought it used with. I'm waiting on vorteks tires and will probably get granite tires to switch between the two. It would probable look better with the bigger granite tires)

I think it sits a little high. I saw that the team associated yellow springs were closest to the vorteks stock springs so I wanted to try them. I ran out of adjustment and that's how high it still sits. Waiting on the typhon springs to try that as they are softer so I could get it sitting lower. My goal was to get a vorteks with a vorteks stance but on longer travel upgraded suspension. I will try it how it is though and see how it works. I also bash and like to jump it so I might keep it taller to help with the hard landings.

What do you all think?

Does this sound right?

I don't remember it sounding like this but I never ran it on the table like I'm doing now. I'm newer to RC cars. I took this one apart to grease it and clean it (I got it used) and when I put it back together I thought I'd test it. Does this sound right? I thought it could be gear mesh but that seemed alright. And I've moved it around a bit and it's still making a similar noise. This is the best I've gotten it. It still has its composite slipper gear in it so I was thinking that's just the sound it makes?

Vorteks 3s upgrade?

I know the granite and the vorteks share the same body and I can make my vorteks a granite. The thing I'm mostly curious about is getting longer travel shocks on it. I can change the shock towers and shocks over to what the granite has and that would do that for me. I was wondering how much less stable that would make my truck. I was thinking of keeping the vortex wheels on it. If I did bigger wheels I would want to keep the vorteks body though. It looks a whole lot better than the granite does to me.

Has anyone done this? How does it perform? Would it want to do more flips in the air or does air flipping come more from what tires are on the truck?

TT-02B shock question

The shocks on the TT-02B front are 70mm and 95mm. I'm wanting to get more ground clearance and was curious if I could put 75mm and 100mm? Is that too much of a jump? Would it mess up any geometry tons? Just wondering what I could get away with to get more ground clearance.

Help me to understand

Pic of my new forerunner 970 that I'm loving for attention. Been loving the upgrade of having the flashlight the most but also love the maps and speaker/mic.

I don't get the argument that a lot of people make for needing better battery life if you could help me to understand that. These already all get insane battery life. I don't understand the argument and logic that people have here where they want the watch to have 1 month battery so the get the solar mip display. Or upgrading their watch with 10 days of battery life to one with 15. To me it seems all the same.

I have a hard time understanding why much more battery life is needed especially when these watches also charge super fast. I throw mine on the charger when I shower (only when battery percentage is getting low not every day) and it seems like most of the time its done within an hour which isn't that much time without having it off. I mean even if your watch lasts a week that's 1 out of 168 total hours you're not wearing your watch that's .6% of the time you are alive without having you're watch on. Not bad at all.

I 100% understand the issue with apple watch and other smart watches with their battery life cause those things don't last long at all. It does start to feel like a hassle charging it, especially when the battery wears down and it doesn't last more than a day. (I know the ultras exist. I had one before, and even that 3 days of battery life was fine by me.)

I'm just trying to understand. Do people just want to be wearing their watch 24/7 or are there other reasons that battery life matters that I'm not really seeing?

How many heads and zones would you do?

I am looking to trench in some sprinklers to my front yard but I'm not sure how many heads and zones I should do. I got around 7.5 gpm and 60 psi when I hooked to the hose bib I would probably tie into. I am open to rotary (I have a temporary setup where I ran garden hose to 6 Saturn 3s and have them set on a 2 zone set up. I am leaning towards fixed misting type if I'm already digging a trench though cause I heard they are more consistent as far as how much water gets on every area of grass. I was thinking I could do 15 but I'm not sure how to zone them based on my water pressure and gpm. Could I get away with less or is this a decent setup? Or is it not worth the pain and just trench in my 2 zones of rotary heads and call it good?
