To spend or not to spend the big money.

dont know if im in the right place, but here is my story.

I ve been using a Matco 6s triple bay box for 12 years and i just want something new, i ve looked at the Icon tool boxes and while i do like them, i dislike the added hassle should any warranty needs come up, Matco and Snap on ( ive had both) dont blink when i need new slides, or a lock shits the bed. they order it and the reps i ve had are happy to help with the actual replacement.

i mainly want a hutch and a locker, gaining tools over the years the old 77 inch 6s is filling up. to buy a matching locker and hutch for my current box will run around 10 all said and done.

but i can get a screaming (to me anyways) deal on a whole new setup. looking at a new 6s rollcab with a hutch and locker for right around 22k after tax (but not including total interest)

this setup with no promo/discount/trade in would run about 38k after tax (again not figuring interest)

yeah yeah its alot of money for a box, but my current box has had drawers opened and stood on, and multiple drawers get opened and shut about 1000 times a week, and ive had one drawer slide get jammed up and it was likely my fault (spraying the grinder sparks towards it with drawers opened.

for the guys who have spent money on big name brand boxes, would you do it again?

for clarity, of all the boxes i ve had in my 15 year career, ive never owned a new one. ive always just bought cheap trade ins.

Resurrected Marlin 995

Neighbor gave me this thing missing the magazine, magazine plate, trigger assembly, and the stock broken in half and already once glued together.

Brass pins coated in some thin epoxy, hammered to swell the pin ends, then filed flush, some ebay auction scores and i have a slightly rusty but completely functional plinker.

Reset thru asus recover?

Been wanting a handheld for a while and my local game exchange finally has an Rog ally x in for a decent price. Problem is it wasnt wiped. It does boot and i can get into BIOS and find the Asus cloud recovery option. But everything i ve read says that could take 2 hours to factory reset. Due to the crappy return policy i have to return the same day to avoid the "in store credit only"

Is there any reason to be worried that it will be a dead stick?

Ram upgrade just making sure.

Asus Strix G16

Upgraded from 16gb ram to 32gb ram.

I found a few things saying its plug and play and that what i did and all seems to be well. Armoury crate showed 15.2 gb available prior to swap now shows 31.2 available. Appears swap is successful. And no issues have shown up in 8+ hours of gaming since.

Factory ram is 16gb DDR5 5200 mhz and from my limited understanding this laptop will only go to 5200mhz.

I put in kingston fury 6000mhz DDR5 32gb.

Just wanting to make sure i dont need to get into bios and make changes.

Prior to ram swap had issues running starfield on the more "busy" planets with either lots of foliage or weather effects or both. Would get a hard crash to desktop nearly instantly upon exploring. Graphics settings on medium.

After ram swap turned all in game setting to ultra/high (some dont have an ultra setting) and no issues or stuttering. Highest Ram usage according to armoury crate showed 22.4.

So brand new setup, running Asus Strix G16 and supporting peripherals. I ve got my Xbox account linked to my laptop, and download games via steam and from the xbox app run with no issue. The issues i have is solely thru cloud gaming. (At least so far). Playing cyberpunk and running graphics in performance mode i experience laggy gameplay during the busy on screen moments and also the game stops, and a message stating "the game has closed unexpectedly" shows up. Is this usually seen when cloud gaming? Or is it just the game being that hard to run? I could just buy the game again thru steam but seems like that would make my jump to pc gaming useless for any games i already have on console.

I have 1gb fiber internet and have confirmed im connected to the 5Ghz wifi.

Helping a buddy move and found this small blackstone hiding in his garage. Asked him what he was doing with it and told me it was rough and just scrap metal. So free game. Got it home tonight scraped apl the crap off, hit it with the angle grinder and knotted wire wheel, more scraping in the corners, and cleaned up the base and now i have a 17 inch blackstone for those camping trips. This will be replacing my old coleman roadmaster grill. And i already have an adapter hose to run bigger propane bottles.

The only thing i need (or at least would like) is a lid of some sort. Is there anything commonly adapted to these? Or i can fabricate my own.

Currently running it on high to get that first seasoning burned in so im not quite done yet.
