Why I can’t get the same deal???

Hello, I’m looking for some help. I’ve been an Xfinity customer for many years, and next month my current internet promotion is ending.
I would like to maintain my current offer, pricing, and service. Otherwise, I may have to switch to another provider offering a better introductory deal.
I currently have Xfinity internet and two mobile lines, and I’m actually planning to add a third mobile line. However, I’ve called customer service twice, and both times I was told that there are no options available to either maintain my current rate or receive a better offer.
Is this really how existing, long-term customers are being treated? I’m hoping someone from the appropriate customer retention or supervisory team can contact me to see if we can work out a similar promotional rate for another year.
Please DM me if you can assist, and I’ll provide my account details privately.
Thank you.

Looking for an Oakley Holbrook lens similar to Maui Jim Kanaio Coast (HCL Bronze) Option

I recently bought a pair of Maui Jim Kanaio Coast sunglasses with the HCL Bronze lenses, and I absolutely love them. The comfort is excellent, but what really impressed me is the lens clarity, contrast, and overall view. They are probably the best sunglasses I’ve owned.
That said, I’d also like to add a pair of Oakley Holbrooks to my collection because I really like the Holbrook style.

I’m trying to figure out which Oakley lens would be the closest match to the Maui Jim HCL Bronze lens.
I’ve been looking at options such as Prizm Bronze Polarized and Prizm Tungsten Polarized, but I haven’t had the chance to compare them side by side.

For those of you who have owned both Maui Jim and Oakley:

Which Oakley lens is most similar to the Kanaio Coast HCL Bronze?

How does the clarity compare?

Is Prizm Tungsten or Prizm Bronze the better choice if I like the warm bronze tone of the Maui Jim lenses?

I also considered the Costa Rinconcito, but the Oakley Holbrook XL is significantly cheaper, which is pushing me more toward Oakley.

I’d appreciate any real-world experiences or recommendations.

Thanks!

Bought Maui Jim Kanaio Coast and Costa Del Mar Middles at 40% off from Sunglass Hut — Keep or Return?

I’ve been researching sunglasses for days and probably spent way too much time reading reviews, Reddit threads, and watching YouTube videos trying to find something with great lens quality and durability.

I kept seeing people recommend Maui Jim and Costa Del Mar as two of the best brands, especially for lens clarity and polarization. Then I found a 40% off deal at Sunglass Hut and pulled the trigger:

Maui Jim Kanaio Coast (for me) $289
Costa Del Mar Middles (for my wife) 40% from $262 to $157.

After buying them, I started reading posts from former Sunglass Hut employees and comments saying Sunglass Hut is overpriced, that many brands aren’t worth the retail price, and that it’s better to buy online from places like Jomashop or other discount retailers. Now I’m wondering if I made the right decision.

A few questions for those with experience:

Are Maui Jim Kanaio Coast and Costa Del Mar Middles considered good purchases at 40% off?

Would you keep them at that price or return them and buy elsewhere?

Is there any concern that Sunglass Hut gets different-quality products than other retailers?

For those who own Maui Jim or Costa, how have they held up over time?

If you had around the same budget, would you buy something different?

For context, I’m in Florida, spend a lot of time outdoors, driving, at the beach, and around the water.

Just looking for honest opinions before my return window closes. Thanks!

Are expensive sunglasses really worth it? Costa Rincon II 580G vs Maui Jim Kanaio Coast

I’ve gone down a rabbit hole researching sunglasses over the last few weeks, and I’m trying to decide if spending $250–$350+ on a pair is actually worth it.
For context, I’m 40 years old and live in Florida. I work outdoors and drive a lot, spend time with my wife and kids, go to church, family gatherings, and generally spend a lot of time outside in bright sunlight. I’m looking for one pair that I can wear all day.

Originally, I was looking at Transition lenses because I wanted something that could handle both indoors and outdoors. The more I researched, the more I realized that transitions don’t always get dark enough in the car and don’t seem to provide the same glare reduction as a dedicated polarized sunglass.

After researching, I’ve narrowed it down to two options:
Costa Del Mar Rincon II with 580G Glass lenses (Gold Mirror)
Maui Jim Kanaio Coast
What attracts me to the Costa:
Glass lenses with excellent optical clarity and scratch resistance. Costa claims the 580G lenses provide superior clarity and are highly scratch resistant.
I spend time around water, and many people seem to consider Costa one of the best brands for reducing glare and seeing detail on the water.
I really like the look of the Rincon II.

What attracts me to the Maui Jim:
People constantly praise the lens quality, color enhancement, and comfort. Maui Jim’s polarized technology is often mentioned as being excellent at eliminating glare and reducing eye strain.
The Kanaio Coast seems like a great all-around lifestyle frame for driving, outdoor activities, and everyday wear.
I’ve read many comments saying Maui Jim’s customer service and lens quality are hard to beat.

My questions:
For someone who isn’t a fisherman but spends a lot of time outdoors in Florida, is it worth spending this much on sunglasses?
If you’ve owned both Costa and Maui Jim, which did you prefer and why?
Is the difference between premium sunglasses and cheaper polarized sunglasses actually noticeable after wearing them for a while?
If you had to choose between the Costa Rincon II 580G and the Maui Jim Kanaio Coast, which would you buy as your one everyday pair?

I’d love to hear from people who have owned either model long-term.

Thanks!

Sacramento wastewater treatment course

Hello everyone,

Has anyone enrolled in both Sacramento Volume 1 and Volume 2 of the wastewater courses? I have a question about the exams.

I know that once you enroll online, you can take the test online. I also purchased the test question booklet, and I was told that since I bought the booklet, I need to complete the questions and mail them in to be graded.

However, I’ve heard from some people taking the drinking water courses that they complete the questions in the booklet first and then transfer their answers to the online exam, receiving their grade immediately. They said the online exam contains the same questions as the booklet, just in a different order.

Has anyone taken the wastewater online exam and used the answered questions from the booklet as a reference? I just want to confirm whether the questions are the same, even if they appear in a different order.

Thank you!

Florida public employees: Pension or Investment Plan with FRS?

I’m looking for advice from Florida public employees or anyone familiar with FRS.

I currently work for a city in Florida that offers a 401 plan. I’ve been there almost 10 years and have a little over $100k in the account so far. The city contributes around 12% and I contribute a small amount.

I’m considering moving to another county but they use FRS instead of a 401. From what I understand, employees contribute 3%, and then the employer contributes around 8.30% for the Investment Plan or over 11% for the Pension Plan.

I’m trying to decide which option would make the most sense for me.

My biggest issue is that I honestly don’t know if I’ll stay with FRS long term. I could stay forever, or I could stay maybe 5–10 years and move again later. That’s what makes this decision difficult.

Part of me likes the Pension Plan because of the guaranteed retirement income, but the Investment Plan seems more flexible and portable if I leave. My concern with the Investment Plan is having to manage investments myself long term, even though I already have a Roth IRA with a simple 3-fund portfolio.

For those who have experience with FRS:
- Which option did you choose and why?
- If you were around 40 years old and unsure about staying 20–30 years, what would you do?
- Is the Pension Plan still worth it if you may not stay until retirement?

I’d appreciate any real-world advice or experiences.

Hello everyone,
I am looking to obtain dual licensure in drinking water and wastewater treatment. Regarding the Sacramento State (CSUS) courses, do I need to purchase both Volume 1 and Volume 2 for both disciplines?
My plan is to self-study, pass the exams, and then transfer to a utility that supports dual licensure. To save on shipping costs, I plan to buy all volumes at once but enroll in the courses one by one.
I have a question regarding the testing process. I understand that the process has changed, and it is no longer just a mail-in booklet. If I take the test online, do I still need to purchase the test question booklet separately?
Also, how does the online test function? Can I answer questions chapter-by-chapter as I study, or is the online test a single, timed session similar to the state exam?

How easy is it to perform a transmission fluid exchange on a 2018 Mazda 6? It was done around 70k miles at the dealership, and now it’s due again. I’m thinking about buying the OEM fluid and doing it myself. Have you ever done it before?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently working at a drinking water plant in FL, but where I’m at they don’t allow operators to hold a dual license.

I’m really interested in growing in this field and moving forward in my career, so I’ve been thinking about studying on my own to get my wastewater license. I’m planning to buy the Sacramento State wastewater courses to help me prepare.

My goal is to study independently, pass the exam, and eventually apply for a position at a utility that allows dual licensing.

For those of you who have done this:
- Is it realistic to study on your own and pass?
- Are the Sacramento courses enough, or should I add other materials?
- Any advice on how to stay on track without being in a wastewater plant environment?

I’m motivated to succeed and take the next step, just want to make sure I’m approaching this the right way.

I appreciate any guidance you can share. Thanks in advance!
