What if there were cards that removed evolves or super evolves from the opponent?

I had this thought, there are cards that give you evolves or super evolves so I wondered, why aren't there cards that remove the opponents instead? A debuff against them instead of a buff for you.

How would these cards go, how much should they cost? Could they be added?

Foul Detective Satori is bad

I have posted criticism of this manga before but have deleted those posts because I will be honest those were poorly written. There were valid critiques but I exaggerated minor issues and the structure of it was just messy.

I won't be going chapter by chapter and pointing out everything I notice, instead I will have sections focus on the major problem this story has. So far I have read volumes 1-4.

  1. Satori doesn't appear in her own manga.

This is one of the biggest problems, let's go volume by volume on what she does. When Patchouli was poisoned at Scarlet Devil Mansion, she then deduces who did it based on what she was told by Orin. She then went to the mansion to confirm who it was and explain the actual plot of the manga, about a vengeful spirit possessing youkai, she really only appeared at the beginning and near the end.

In volume 2, to give credit she does do more, she tells Youmu what to do. She read Yuyuko’s mind and after failing to find Reimu deduced Marisa was possessed, she does stuff but still she doesn’t get that much screen time compared to the other characters in her own manga, there are chapters she doesn’t even appear.

Volume 3 is where it gets really bad, all she gets are 2 scenes. One where she says she is too sick to read human minds so can't just read all their minds and another scene where she is found collapsed. That is it, all the work in finding out who Mizuchi is is done by every other character while Satori did nothing.

In volume 4, she has one conversation in chapter 20 and has a conversation with Hetate. At no point in these last 2 volumes does she deduce anything with her logic or merit. It’s not just that she gets little screentime, it’s that she gets almost no agency or actually does anything regarding the mystery.

The main character getting sidelined in her own manga?

  1. Yukari is pathetic

Yukari in Volume 2 chapter 5 says hell used to be used to hold Vengeful Spirits. She says “Exactly what we feared had ended up happening” which means she knew this might happen so surely she would have a plan right? Except she doesn’t, every action she takes is reactive. She gets her Shikigamis to go investigate a location after it was already attacked, and then gets possessed. She never set up a trap in advance or warned someone ahead of time or did anything that looked like set up, so essentially she feared this would happen and did nothing?

She then just disappears from the manga to recover because she gets possessed by Mizuchi, also how did she get possessed? I read Volume 2 again and I don’t see any moment where Yukari was vulnerable or any opening. She is pathetic in this manga, she is supposed to be smart but all she did was send her shikigamis to look for Mizuchi before being possessed.

  1. Mizuchi’s possessions

In volume 2 Satori reveals that Mizuchi is a vengeful spirit who can possess people by giving them drinks.

Her possession doesn’t make much sense. In volume 2 she possessed Marisa, went to Hakugyokurou to give Sake to Yuyuko to possess her and it doesn’t make sense what happens. Why didn’t Marisa wake up in the netherworld and have no clue how she got there as Mizuchi now left her body? From Marisa’s perspective she would have just woken up there with no clue how she got there as Mizuchi leaves her body

Additionally in volume 3, when Reimu was in Eientai to hide from Mizuchi, it is revealed she had possessed Kaguya…. Reimu was in Eientei and unaware that Kaguya was possessed. Why didn’t she possess Reimu? All she would have to do is give some water and Mizuchi would win, she has a grudge against Reimu and didn’t take the clear opportunity to possess her?

Let’s recap, Satori says Mizuchi hates Gensokyo so someone that hates Gensokyo.
So someone who hates Gensokryo has Yukari’s body and….. no major event happens outside the already existing characters. She literally possessed Yukari, someone who can manipulate boundaries and was one of the sages who made the barrier and did nothing major with it? There was no major destruction or anything huge that happened other than Yukari gets put out the story for the next 2 volumes and Alice gets possessed, she caused less damage than any incidents in the official games.

Small thing but here is a scene that is unintentionally funny, Reimu says in chapter 12 “If it hijacks someone actually threatening it could turn into a massacre".......... Reimu, it possessed Yukari and did almost nothing, what are you afraid of?? If she can’t even cause major damage with Yukari she is not that harmful.

But additionally I just see no foreshadowing or anything that can give the reader hints on who was possessed. There was no foreshadowing that Kaguya was possessed, she just was. There were no hints Sanae was possessed, I didn’t notice anything giving any sort of hint or implication Sanae was possessed. It's a cheap plot twist to surprise the viewer.

  1. Miscellaneous  stuff

This is just various smaller things I noticed

Alice got no lines, and this isn’t just me complaining a character I like didn’t appear. She was a direct victim of Mizuchi but we don’t see her reaction or anything about her. She appeared to just be a plot device with no characterization

I wish Tewi got some screentime rather than just one panel, we never see her reaction, I know she is a prankster but it would have been nice to see what she would do in a situation I assume she took seriously.

Plot hole in volume 3, Mizuchi should not be able to escape at the end, In Sangetsusei ~ Strange and Bright Nature Deity Chapter 3 it shows Reisen has an ability to make an optical illusion preventing anyone lost in the forest to not escape. Meaning Mizuchi should have not been able to escape but I guess Reisen kinda forgot.

How did none of the moon rabbits see Marisa and Mokou fly in Eientei? This is a world where people can fly why did none of the moon rabbits look up?

In volume 4 Orin accuses Hinda of being the culprit, she says this in front of Hina, which is a stupid action. If she is right she just give Mizuchi a chance to fly away and escape or attack Orin. Orin could have just gone away without telling Hina of her suspicions then got Reimu and some other allies to ambush her. She was wrong but still the action was not smart.

Why don’t any of the characters just warn the future targets? They know Mizuchi is going in order of the Gensokyo Incidents so they should be able to just warn the next faction of what will happen or work with them to make a trap but they don’t, Moriya Shrine was not warned by anyone involved before Mizuchi escaped again/

Small note

The reason I started this I was trying to find an unrelated post by looking up key terms and accidentally found a series called **“**False Detective Satori Is Still a Total Disaster”

I partially did this in honor of u/Defiant_Habit6984, them being unfairly unallowed to continue for a month, I will criticize it. (It was for “Spam” when it’s not lol, sure he made 2 posts in one day but they were 2 parts of one essay and their last post about FDS was more then a month before, it isn’t spam.)

I might make another part going over the mystery part or other characters but I will leave it here, thoughts on this?
