[HIRING] Seeking 2D animator for skeleton animations and combat FX

Hi there! My name is Garrett and I'm trying to get a passion project off the ground in the form of a 2D Point-and-click adventure with caravan mechanics and turn-based combat.

The project is entirely 2D and, in effect, is a giant UI. However it will be lavishly illustrated with dynamic, layered backgrounds, complex writing, and an involved resource management system. We've spent the last four months focused on worldbuilding, concept art, and the GDD.

We need an animator to join the team and provide skeleton animations for complex, mechanical character designs. These animations will be used in point-and-click exploration sections but also turn-based combat sections, which will be similar visually to games like Darkest Dungeon.

I will never ask anyone to work for free, but please know that at this stage it is entirely funded out-of-pocket and our budget is razor thin. Our target is building a proof-of-concept prototype which we can use to secure a funding source (Kickstarter or a publisher), at which point a more reasonable compensation can be discussed. To that end, as we work through the prototype, timelines are super loose and we respect that you're likely to have other obligations.

If you're interested, please contact me with your work background, portfolio, and comfort level with complex UIs. Also, if you're a fan of Bionicle - huge plus!

Seeking Lead Programmer for Mid-level Indie Project (2D Point-and-click adventure)

At this stage, the vision is becoming clear, but we need a programmer who is able to begin prototyping the concept. The ideal candidate is someone who is inspired by the world design and leaned into our journey as a team (if you grew up with LEGO Bionicle - please apply! I can explain further in DMs). We need someone who can own the code side of the project and drive things forward. The main challenge here is likely to be quest management and UI.

If you're interested, please contact me with your work background, engine experience, and comfort level with complex UIs. Again, if you're a fan of Bionicle - huge plus!

Thanks for your time! 🙂

Mullvad crashes every two minutes and is completely unusable.

Seriously, what gives? My internet is stable, but when I try to connect to Mullvad I might was well just throw my router away. I've tried every different setting I can think of. Are there known problems with this thing or am I just unlucky?

I love this game, but I find the vanilla experience unplayable.

Wonder if anybody else feels this way too. I love Valheim, got over 100 hours logged, but I basically found the game unplayable until they introduced world modifiers. Even with resources maxed out and metal teleportation on, there are so many weird little issues that require mods to fix: Why is the map reveal area so small? Why are boats so agonizingly slow? Why is the grass draw distance so small?

Don't get me wrong, I understand that with this kind of game, the tedium is sort of part of the experience. But so much of it feels unnecessary... I can live with painful corpse runs, but when I'm swarmed by so many drakes that base building in the mountain feels like a chore, I feel like something's wrong. I dunno, I maybe it's just me.
