Jackery 1000 Plus is powering a refrigerator (w/freezer) and separate 5 Cu Ft freezer during outage. Works great, but by morning it's dead, the sun starts charging Jackery, but it won't turn the A/C outlets back on (and I'm not here to turn it back on). Any suggestions???
It's a brownout here, and I've read I shouldn't plug in the Jackery during a brown out.
BUT I feel like I should be able to utilize this power that's lighting the lights up to help keep my Jackery going. It's not like the fridge & freezer are constantly going...
Maybe something that converts the 120V to a lower voltage and goes in the solar 8020 port? Or something that gives me 12 volts-ish and I could plug in the cigarette adaptor. Someone must have figured out something like this?!?
I'm just brainstorming here...?
I've been staying at mom's and driving over, unlplugging, taking to mom's to charge, and re-doing the trip (but it's just over 1 hour round trip and that's too). Today, I'm spending a few hours topping off at but it's hot and not a lot of sun, so it's probably even going to run out sooner tonight.
I do have a Jackery 600, but it won't run the refrigerator (to big of a spike when it kicks on), but works with the 5 cu ft freezer, so that's been good so far (so it has power during the swaps).
edit: I had to give up on the refrigerator, it uses too much power. I should’ve cleared it out earlier, as 70%+ of the refrigerator isn’t stuff that’s gonna spoil.
I moved a few things in the freezer that had thawed or was super old to the trash, anything else that looked good and I moved to their freezer.
My freezer uses less than a quarter of what the refrigerator uses, when they’re running. I have no idea which ones runs more often. But the refrigerator is closer to the sliding glass door. So I’m sure it gets a bit more heat.
Next time I’ll get my 42 quart bodega 12 V cooler and move that 20% or 30% in the fridge that’s perishable to there.
