Risked it for the brisket

This was my 2nd brisket on the Traeger, my first was this past Christmas and I thought it SUCKED. People were kind about it but more than one person said the ribs were better and I was like what now??? So I wanted to do better. Thanks for suggestions to check out Meat Church, extremely helpful and I dove in on their Youtube.
This was a 15lb that trimmed down to maybe 13. Seasoned with Kinder BBQ blend with mustard binder. Started at 7pm at 225 and let it go thru 7am. Cranked to 250 for 2 hours then foiled wrapped for another 2 hours, at that time it was probe tender to 200 degrees. Boiled water and threw it in a cooler, drained it and dried it - put my brisket in and rested for about 6 hours. It was finally the star of the meal and I got nothing but overwhelmingly positive feedback.
Thank you, Traeger subreddit smokers!

If you plant it, they will come

That’s not always the case, but it worked this time! Prairie thistle via prairie moon nursery planted last year & now a monster. Love birdwatching so I do plant with them in mind 😊

Maiden blooms

Maiden blooms today before the bugs, heat and humidity ruin them. Spirit of freedom, Charles de Gaulle, Charity, Miranda, and a mystery rose 🤔

Sphynx with urinary issues and now heart disease

Hi all. I am so so sad and have been waiting for my cat’s vet to get back to me but thought I’d get advice here… 7 year old male pure bred sphynx with history of urinary issues. He also has paroxysmal dyskinesia, which is very mild with infrequent episodes. He has a murmur and so I gave the okay to get some labs. His BNP is >1500 and he also has mild anemia. He is slightly overweight as well. Also badly needs his teeth cleaned. Unfortunately, he has a major vet phobia and fear and needs sedation for anything so I will be getting the echo in the next month or so and hopefully his teeth cleaning if everything looks okay. Anyways, my question is - can you recommend a cat food for him that would meet his health needs? OTC or prescription. (Sorry if this is against the rules, I read them but not sure about this) And should I be getting him to exercise more? This cat has been with me through so many life changes and I can’t bear to think of being without him when he is just 7… thank you for your time.

Toddler swim classes - update

Hi, I have an update on my 4 year old son in his town swim classes! So I took some advice from y’all, which I was so grateful for, and took him swimming at the pool where his lessons are in the middle of the week. He still wouldn’t go in the “big” pool but he did swim in the smaller pool. I didn’t force it, I just let it be. Now today - he is in the pool for his class but not really participating consistently, but FINE. - its such an improvement. I am away from the pool and there is no crying or jumping out or anything SO I feel like it is a win. I do think we will keep him in this class but maybe repeat it again vs. having him move up after this class. Thanks all for your advice, especially the swim teacher!

TMI.. Lyme question for the women!

I got bit on Sunday, rash started that night and has continued to grow. Been on doxycycline since last night. ANYWAYS… this is embarrassing to ask and when googled I just got back a random study so heres my weird question… Monday morning I had vaginitis symptoms, and I swear its from the Lyme! I have very few lady parts issues in the past and this does seem like too much of a coincidence if it is not related. Anyone with a similar experience?

Help! Toddler refusing swim lessons

My son is 4 and is doing swim lessons through our city. He will play in the ocean and go in pools but has been a terror at these lessons. Refusing to get in and then demanding to get out and crying and screaming while all the other kids are paying attention and doing their thing. I am incredibly aggravated. For me this is important for safety sake and I really really need for him to learn how to swim as there are lots of rivers and ponds near us. I just had to get him out of the pool because he was screaming and kept saying “ow” although nothing is hurting him. I have been giving multiple pep talks and it seems to do nothing. Pleeeease any help or advice!!

Vacation cut short, toddlers.

Planned a 2 night vacation at a family resort this weekend. Husband, 4 year old son, 2 year old son, and myself. Last night was a nightmare. Kids were yelling, hitting, not listening, etc. and I understand they were overstimulated and we all ended up miserable and exhausted. Fast forward to this afternoon when they are due for their nap - same deal, except now extremely overtired. So we left. We cut our losses (about $300) and now we are driving home. My husband always wants to do fun things with the kids and plan these trips but I feel like they aren’t capable yet. It is not worth it for all of us to be tired, agitated, and miserable. Just have to remember this is just a season and will pass eventually…

Grace Rose Farm

These folks are outta control with influence and power. Put both them words in quotations. Hook, line, and sinker.. I got the membership. And here I was so ecstatic about getting “exclusive” access to “exclusive” roses. And here I went - bought Princess Hoshiko with my exclusive membership and then got an email a day later talking about how it was “oversold” and a complimentary bouquet and a credit?
Bruv. Just REFUND me.
But hey on day of launch of those roses - they allowed me to post on the facebook group that I got the rose…
I don’t know what goes on at that company and why but at this point I don’t care.
I was supposed to get a pink tumbleweed microrose but again this has not been delivered or discussed with me so again, cut my losses…
Also - about to 10 or so roses were not available a this is not standard rose company policy so GRF is money hungry again.
The lives and sense of community are so fun and that is part of why I got “hooked” to the GRF brand.
I hope this post comes up on google for folks.
Happy rose growing!
