Do you have an internal monologue? 🧠 💭

I was talking to my neighbor earlier and we got on the topic of inner monologues and I was surprised to find out that he basically doesn’t have one. He said he just thinks of specific images and memories, etc.. I have a non-stop conversation going internally from the time I open my eyes in the morning. Constant what-if’s, debates, or just narrating what I’m doing as I go along lol. All in my head though, I don’t talk out loud like a mad man. Most of the time. I asked him what he thinks about when he’s planning and he said he just sees possible outcomes. Whereas I think in steps and contingencies, working to the big picture. I looked into it a little more and apparently a significant portion of the population doesn’t have an internal monologue. Like 30-50% in some studies. Most people reported having one only part of the time. Mine doesn’t stop. Ever. lol

What’s your “little voice” like?
