First day- total meltdown after

My daughter had her first day today. She seemed fine getting off the bus at first, but then immediately broke down into hysterics. She’s been home for 30 minutes now and hysterical the entire time. IS THIS NORMAL?

Idk what happened at school bc she won’t tell me anything but it sounds like nothing happened. She’s upset bc she wants to play with the neighbors (older kids- 4th and 5th grade) but they literally aren’t even outside. She’s crying that she “doesn’t want today to be a normal day” and “thought today was supposed to be fun” so I’m assuming some expectation she had of today was not met.

Idk what to do? She’s scream-crying. I suspect she’s just tired and overwhelmed but she’s been in daycare her whole life so a long day isn’t new.

Anyone else dealing with the same??

Where on App do you book Royal Gathering?

I’m pretty sure tonight at midnight is my night to book the royal gathering, but I have no idea where on the app I need to go? Is this something you can’t see at all until it’s time? I want to be prepared when the clock strikes but I know I’m going to waste time floundering around looking for it. Can anyone help me out ?

Need help with N64 controller on switch

I ordered a wireless n64 controller that is supposed to work on the switch (not from Nintendo, but from a third party on Amazon. Probably my first issue..), but I am having issues and curious if anyone else had similar struggles.

I got it all paired and working ok but the controls are not operating at they did in N64. For reference, the C buttons do not work at all (I am playing Majoras Mask so I kinda need those..). Those keys are mapping to the d pad instead. The switch is not recognizing the controller when I go to “change button mapping” in settings- it’s seeing it as a pro controller.

Is there a solve for this or do I just need to send it back and buy the official controller from Nintendo?

What is causing my child to get sick at my moms?

Some context- my kids usually spend Fridays evenings with my mom and spend the night. They have been doing this for years and this was never an issue before.

Last weekend my 5 year old woke up throwing up. According to my mom, they had McDonald’s, went to a play place, and I think went to my aunt and uncles for a bit. They always stay up late there. I don’t think she ate anything from my mom’s house. When she got home, she immediately took a nap for a bit and then was fine for the rest of the day, playing as normal and said she felt better. Last time she had puked was the car ride home. I chalked it up to being a bug that passed quickly.

But then this morning my mom calls me and says she’s sick again. Again they are at the restaurant, went to my aunt and uncles but I think they were mostly playing outside there, and the only thing she consumed at my mom’s was chocolate milk. My son had the same milk and is fine. She’s been throwing up constantly this morning. Both times it begins as soon as she wakes up. We’re still at moms now so I don’t know if she’ll be better once we get home this time. We can’t think of anything different that would be causing it. ChatGPT has me concerned it could be a carbon monoxide leak or something. I just ordered her a detector that will arrive tomorrow.

What else should I be looking for? Seems too weird to be a coincidence. She doesn’t get sick like this often. She looks awful right now. Any ideas welcome!!!

Layers for daughter’s hair?

My daughter is 5 and her hair is down to her butt. It used to be really curly but it’s starting to flatten out a bit. I think part of it is that it’s being weighed down, and another part is that it gets so tangled I have to brush it out in the morning and try to spritz it with water to get the curls back- but they never look as good after doing that than it does when it’s air dried and not brushed again. Yes I know you’re not supposed to brush curls but if I don’t it’s a tangled mess.

She’s never had a proper haircut. She’s had two trims ever.

I don’t want to cut off her length- maybe 1-2 inches because it’s getting so long that she’s sitting on it on the toilet… but I’m debating layers? Do you think long layers will help bring the curls back to life? I’m hoping the curls are still there and not fading away for good! I had similar curls as a child and it’s just wavy now but I damaged my hair a lot with heat and color.

I am also wondering if I should get her bangs?

Just looking for advice on a cut and also care for it now that it’s getting longer. It gets very tangled.

Not much of a routine- wash with so cozy kids curly shampoo but sometimes normal shampoo and conditioner. In the morning just spray with water and then spray with so cozy curly deep conditioner spray and scrunch.

Thanks!

Kindergarten and the bus

My daughter will be starting kindergarten this upcoming school year. I would like her to take the bus because I start work at 8. Even getting her on the bus I will have to go into work late bc the bus comes shortly after 8, but if I drop her off that will be more like 9.

Any concerns with putting a kindergartener on the bus? Should I drop her off the first day at least and then start the bus after that? On the first day do the parents walk them to their class or drop them at the door and they figure it out?
