Could Viserys have married Rhaenyra to stop the Dance and death of dragons?

I know its a VERY gross thought and it personally disturbs me a bit. But the Targaryens likely would not think it’s so far fetched.

The Doctrine of Exceptionalism already declared that Targaryens engaging in incest was entirely normal since they are considered superior to the Andals and First Men and want to keep their bloodline pure.

So why would a marriage between Rhaenyra and Viserys be seen as unnatural when Targaryens regularly partake in incest?

Logically, it would have solved a bunch of problems and the dragons wouldn’t have gone extinct for another generation at least. Rhaenyra could have been Queen Consort and her claim to the throne could not be so easily disregarded because she has no male siblings that threaten her inheiritance.

Plus their children would have extremely strong (not literally Strong, like in canon) claims to the Iron throne through both Viserys and Rhaenyra. People like Daemon (if he ever tried to usurp the throne) wouldnt be able to usurp the children so easily and he wouldnt get a whole bunch of support.

What do you think?

Should Aegon and Rhaenyra have married eachother to prevent the dance?

I think Aegon should have been named heir. Rhaenyra and Aegon wed eachother when Aegon turns 15 (which is marriageable age in Westoros), and she eventually rules as Aegon’s queen consort.

Dr. Alan Hart was a physician, radiologist, and tuberculosis researcher (1890 - 1962). He was also one of the first transgender men to ever undergo a hysterectomy in 1917.

Alan Hart was born in 1890 and grew up in Oregon. He identified as male since childhood. His parents and grandparents were very accepting of him for the time period, and he was listed as a grandson in both of his grandparents' obituaries.

Hart went to Joshua Allen Gilbert, a doctor at the University of Oregon Medical School. He persuaded the doctor to give him a hysterectomy.

Hart stated that transgender people like himself had "abnormal inversions" and should be sterilized. Hart was appealing to the eugenics mindset that was popular in medicine at the time. The doctor ultimately agreed and Hart was given a hysterectomy in 1917. He also took testosterone hormones too. Changed his name in 1918. And married his wife, Inez Stark, in 1918.

Hart attended Albany College in Oregon and eventually got his medical license in University of Oregon. He also held degrees from Yale and University of Pennsylvania.

Hart was one of the first people to document the spread of Tuberculosis within the body.

It was newly discovered that TB was an air-borne disease and not a hereditary one. Hart was one of the first people to document how the disease moved through the circulatory system, causing lesions in the spine and brain before death.

Hart also helped saved lives by suggesting that X-Rays, relatively new technology at the time, be used as a way to diagnose tuberculosis in the early stages. For many years, Hart would help treat tuberculosis patients and try to aid in epidemics. He helped to lessen the stigma of the disease and to treat TB patients with compassion and recognize their humanity.

He wrote 4 novels in his lifetime about Tuberculosis and how to stop its spread. His research and methods of treatment like X-Ray scans, helped to drop the death rate from Tuberculosis by a HUGE 80 percent.

Hart traveled around the US to help epidemics. was married twice. and eventually died of heart failure in 1963 at the age of 71 after living a long and successful life.
