Genuine question: why is bad scooter behavior so accepted here?
I see some version of this pretty much every day. It doesn’t feel like a couple of bad riders, it feels like a normalized habit that’s illegal and dangerous for bikes and pedestrians. When motorbikes don’t even respect that bare minimum cycling infras, cyclists lose the only protection they had and get pushed into car traffic instead.
3 examples of wrong and illegal behaviors.
So genuinely asking:
- Is this actually illegal and just never enforced, or is there tolerance for it?
- What can be done about it? When I’ve politely asked riders to clear the crosswalk or get out of the bike lane, I’ve been insulted more than once.
Not trying to dunk on all scooters and motorbikes, just trying to understand.
