Am I a bad teacher for refusing to use my own money for anything?

I am going into my first year teaching. I have heard the stories of how much money teachers spend on various items for their classrooms, and while I would love for my classroom to look cute, my frugality outweighs this. I care about my job and will care about my students. But I also care about my personal boundaries. Even though I care, I am big on this is a JOB, not my life. I can already anticipate the side-eyes I’ll get from those colleagues who go “above and beyond.”

I am interested in teachers” perspectives on this, because I do see both sides to this as teaching naturally requires a heart (which I have) but personally I just stop at my finances.

Offered a teaching job with a conditional license

I was recently offered a teaching job with a conditional license at a school for kids with challenging behaviors, the county sends them there when their current school can’t work with them anymore.

Before this I have worked at a private school like this with severe behaviors as a 1:1, and then as a special ed paraeducator. I have also done outside work with adults with disabilities.

Part of me always said I would never want to be a teacher, mainly from working so closely with them and seeing and seeing their struggles and hearing their complaints. Another part of me believes I’d be great at it — as long as I put in the work — because I do care about kids so much, enjoy the actual teaching aspect, and have had thoughts at work like “if I was the teacher I’d do it this way” etc.

I am nervous about the unknown, the long journey and commitment ahead (what if I change my mind?), and the upcoming workload and responsibility I have never had before.

For context this is in Baltimore County, Maryland. The condition is to finish my master’s within 3-4 years. I have a couple other jobs that I am considering before I officially accept. In the meantime I am seeking some real-life advice and stories from teachers with similar experiences.

Some of my main questions:

How intimidating was it at first?

How long did it take to adjust and feel settled into a routine?

How hard was it to balance school and teaching at the same time?

How much time of your free time did school take away?

How long did it take to finish school?

Any input is appreciated!

Women— how do you know when you have an O?

No man has been able to make me come, though I believe I’ve been close with two. Or, it felt good but couldn’t get to great, or it felt good but I was still bored so I’d tell them to stop.

With my vibrator by myself, I have made myself come twice. I only know I came because there was fluid. And maybe I’ve come more times than that, but only with “evidence” twice. So my first question is, how do you know when you’ve come when there is no ejaculation?

My second question… I am dating this man I enjoy very much. He is one of the men mentioned above who has possibly gotten me close, but then it falls stagnant. He wants me to direct him more so he can make me come, but how do I do that if I don’t even know for myself?

I also believe there is likely a psychological factor at play that keeps me from fully relaxing and enjoying myself when I’m with someone versus by myself.

All the reading I’ve done is so vague… (“you’ll know when you know”) and I understand every body is different, but I am just looking for some more real answers and experiences that I might relate to for help.

Thanks!

Looking for office job

Does anyone know of any companies hiring a receptionist or a simple office role? I have been working with kids with special needs for a few years now and I’m TIRED, I just want a simple job where I can do busy work for whatever company. I’m not picky about what industry. I have a Bachelor’s degree. I am a good worker. I’m great with organization and multitasking. Open to any and all suggestions.

I posted in a subreddit, it got removed because I don’t have enough “karma” in that subreddit, but the post is still getting views. Will the post go live when I get “karma,” and how do I gain said “karma” ?
