$NANC and $GOP are doing very well
the reporting delay makes it impossible to keep up with their trades, and depressing to see them posted here after the fact. but these ETFs keep running and im happy with that.
6months and a dishonorable discharge, always gets me.
love this movie, but always have a hard time buying these two imprisoned kids (well really, just this guy here the other is kinda following his lead, which might make it even worse) could seriously refuse the strenuous recommendation of 6months and a dishonorable discharge, given they know they killed someone, to face possible life for murder: because honor. idk if the movie and the play try to make the same oversimplistic point (imo). is the point about honor, or brainwashing? and why does cruise' character get so pissed? like, he takes it personal almost and there is a subtle insult to his own moral code in their exchange, so maybe. i can't tell if this play/screenplay is (though amazing drama) is a naive fairytale or a neutral look clashing philosophies in the military.
BTC short legs of worthless credit spreads
still learning the ropes of credit spreads, but it looks like this is a smart way to 'close' a credit spread that's gone completely in your favor but still has some time before expiry?
you're locking in the win that day, whether its a 30% win and you're satisfied, up to maybe a 99% win?
you're protecting yourself against a late massive swing the other way?
once you btc the short leg, ledger the p/l as (premium - btc) do you do much else besides occasionally checking for a reversal of fortune on the long leg?
Lay5 iron cross
Lay 5 for 500 pays 333 on a 7. This allows you to place 6/8 for 120 each, and make a 60 field bet. You win about 30 on a 7, lose 500 on a 5, win minimum 60 on everything else. The necessary breakeven/non5/7 is about $77/roll, but the actual math puts it closer to $70/roll, so its gonna bleed. But if you were forced to play this, how would you evolve the strat over rolls? 3 hits, 160 across? 2 hits, 110 inside? Collect half, place the 5 with half? Collect even more, hop the 5? The upsides i see to it are a) you don't lose on a 7 b) you don't have to run the establishing a dp/dc gauntlet, and c) its versatile, and fast - you can very quickly win a hundred and transition to something without a 500 loss on one roll.
All Is Known
Finally gave the song its due attention. Its as if Nonagon and Micro had a baby. Great song.
good/important etf's to wheel 3:2 csp:cc?
looking for some worthwhile, worth owning, etfs that aren't too expensive (missed the smh train) and also have high enough iv to make it worth looking into for wheeling. csp into 300 shares, covered call off 200, build up ownership 100 shares at a time. so far, my main targets that are both affordable and barely volatile enough are soxq, lit, nasa, sprt. (honorable mention silj, but idk wtf silver's gonna do longterm). you could do a 2:1 ratio and not deploy as much capital, whatever. i know a lot of you wheel soxl, and some say its not advisable to own (still think so?) but for this discussion im interested in wheeling etfs that i'd want to hold longterm.
How much of Nope is symbolic/metaphoric. You can read so much into everything in the movie.
Eye contact, whats it really about? Black brother and sister, scraping by with no good relationships (with a latino techie?)save the day. Functional, successful korean and white family get destroyed. Whats with the slipper? Whats the point of the filmer dying for 'the impossible shot' as he foretells early on? Its a great scifi horror, but it seemlessly weaves in a lot more.
character development in Obsession
the awkward conversation preceding this awesome shot really rattled me. >!willingly characterizing the relationship as a good friendship, when asked by a girl you're wildly into to tell her now if you like her, is the biological equivalent of jumping off a roof. that's as close to expressing in words how hard that would actually be to do. even if you think she's asking so she can shut you down before it goes to far, you still be honest there. you risk it all. her tone/look was ambiguous at worst. to me, this was just bad writing or something. im not sure. it was definitely triggering. and it was never followed up on. did she actually like him, was she asking for any particular reason? we never know, it doesn't really seem to matter, so why angle the conversation that way? if the movie is in part a lesson on relationships, friendships, friend zones, communication, idk... what was the point of him saying that? is it to portray the weirdness of such an impossibly insecure, demonically manipulative incel? maybe that's what it is, and thus its the crux of the movie? like, what was going to happen there if he was honest? is it obvious what her response would be, does it matter?!<
closing spreads: trigger sale on price of underlying
anyone try to lock in a mitigated loss by automating a trigger sale based on the price of the underlying? im roughly looking to sell at a loss roughly equivalent to 2x the premium. idc what tastytrade says, by 21dte, you're often still on the right side of the trade but can't close without a loss due to iv, or you're fkd (esp with call spreads) cause the price is going to keep moving against you and you're WAY past 2x premium in losses. curious if anyone's played with this? in general, how to measure the price of an option based on the movement of the stock price?
lay bets: vig up front vs on win
vig up front seems great for casinos, in a game already tilted in their favor. i guess lay bet vig up front used to be the standard, but more and more casinos have switched to vig on win to be 'player friendly?' anyone have lay bet strats they will only deploy on vig-on-win tables?
brokerage is saying i could close spreads for a profit (which i know ain't gonna happen). i'll lower the price to zero, so im closing them for nothing. the order still just spins. i can't set the price into negatives. i just gotta wait until my brokerage lets me know the prices are such that i can now pay to close, lol? i tried to close a call spread yesterday for the peanuts it was worth, no beans, despite multiple attempts and modulations. today the stock jumped $50. yesterday the trade was beans, today its $350 to close. it expires tomorrow. its still out of the money today, but if it gaps again it could be itm. im only holding it now because why, the market makers refused to close it for its value two days ago despite my order? they can do that?
