And here's Think of Me!

(Sorry if this has already been posted; I don't think I've seen it here before...)

The other night, I hit my head really hard on the edge of a countertop.

I tried to go to urgent care, but it was closed, and the deductible & copay to go to the ER would have been super expensive, so I toughed it out and self-monitored at home.

Later that night, I noticed that I was actually able to visualize scenarios. It was super weird. There wasn’t a ton of detail, and the visuals were kind of dim, but they were deliberate. (As opposed to the hallucinations that I sometimes get with sleep paralysis, which are not deliberate.)

When I woke up the next day, I couldn’t do it any more. 😞

I thought it might be worth mentioning in case it’s relevant to anyone studying aphantasia.

Seems like none of them are open 24 hours anymore.

Just bumped my head really hard and was hoping to get checked for a concussion, but the place in Bergenfield closes at midnight now.

Google says my only option at this hour is an emergency room, and I’d really rather not pay ~$9k just to be told that I need an ice pack and some Tylenol. 😞

Honestly, fuck this goddamn disgrace of a healthcare system…

Dad has been visiting for about a week.

I don’t have cable. Fox News isn’t going to happen.

Today I casually asked if he’d like to watch the news. “Sure. I don’t know what’s going on these days.” He seemed pretty enthusiastic to catch up on current events.

So I put on PBS News Hour.

We got maaaaaybe ten minutes into the show. Saw a segment with Iran updates (spoiler: the war is still going!) then part of a segment about Trump allowing Turkey to buy F-35s.

He shifted uncomfortably, then tried to change the subject.

“This isn’t very interesting, maybe something else is on?”

I’m not sure whether it was the content that bothered him, or the fact that nobody was screaming and trying to sell him a catheter. 🤷

It’s just fucking sad.
