Find I struggle with resources too much. Advice on managing/choosing what to produce properly?
I quite like stellaris, but I've never actually gotten a full game going past the first few hours or so because I'm really bad at figuring out resources? At least, I think thats the problem. Often, either my consumer goods or my minerals or whatever are in a deficit and I can't build quick enough to get my economy going to let me set up for war/make a good economy/whatever. Idk if maybe I'm misunderstanding what I'm doing wrong but it feels like my empire is always holding on by a thread, yknow?
(CAN) How to not be so goddamn bored?
Hey y'all. Got hired 4 months ago and have been having a time. My colleagues are chill and when its busy, its pretty fun, but I find that this job can be really mind-numbing the rest of the time? I only do fries because I haven't been trained in anything else so maybe its just the station, but unless its the middle of a big rush, I feel like I'm getting paid to stand on two legs and be a warm body. There's only so many bar towels to switch, so many places sweep, yknow? I can't chat with coworkers cuz I myself am quite awkward and noone is really interested in chatting with me anyways. Idk, I just feel like some advice would be nice, cuz I think I dread coming into work alot simply because half the time, im pacing around counting the steps I take in my head cuz I'm that bored while being extremely overstimulated from the noise and shit, yknow?
I swear to god, this sport is so fun if it wasnt for the fact that I lose disc almost all the godamn time! I've already lost $60 worth of plastic in the span of a week since winter passed, and I'm getting so fucking frustrated! I really wanna improve, but I'm worried that this is gonna be sapping my goddamn bank account which I don't need, unless I get better, but I can't get better unless I see all this investment go down the goddamn drain!
Maybe I just need to write down my frustrations but I just need some fuckin reassurance or something cuz I've met some cool people and am having fun. Its just that that fun is almost always ruined by a disc going into the lake or into the forest or into some hell portal where it'll never be found again. Ugh, its so damn frustrating, yknow?
I feel like I'm quite good at writing alot of general history, culture and politics and stuff but when writing about concultures and people's, I struggle with writing about more material stuff. Food, architecture, employment/labor, that kind of stuff. How do y'all go about doing that kind of stuff, trying to describe the everyday lives of your concultures. Are there good sources for the history of these sort of material things, to use in worldbuilding? Sources on ancient stuff, 100s AD type stuff, ect... just feel like I need some guidance here on how to improve
