Need another macropad suggestion

I was looking for a macropad sometime ago and after some digging I eventually chose the duckypad. However it turns out the duckypad is not quite what I am looking for.

I think my biggest problem with duckypad was the lack of coordinate driven mouse movement. I was explained to that for mouse to be able to make precise coordinate-driven movement, a software running on the PC is just inevitable, and duckypad is purely HID.

So here I am again looking for another macropad suggestion and I wonder if anyone can share some insight. Here are some of my current use case:

- I am currently using Razer Synapse and their macro to make pixel-precise cursor movement and execute sequences of mouseclicks and keypresses assigned to the mouse side buttons. However Synapse is a pretty bad software and I do not want to expand on that ecosystem by buying their macropad.

- I am also executing AHK on the side. But I want to be able to achieve that like I would with a keypress on the mouse with the Synapse instead of having my cursor leave the client, double click on the corresponding AHK and have it refocus on the client again to execute the script.

I am looking at elgato stream deck with is rather expensive especially after paying quite an amount for the duckypad, and I am not sure if it is what I am looking for either.

Govee smart plug question

I have two govee smart plug in a room.

Plug A is plugged to an outlet controlled by a physical wall switch.

The other one Plug B is not.

Is it possible to have it so when I switch off Plug A physically from the wall switch, it switches off B as well without needing to use my app?

Has anyone ever tried adding a light diffuser sheet, like from used in a lightbox, to soften GU10 ceiling lights?

I recently changed my ceiling lights to LED ones. They feel very harsh. I am thinking of ways I can diffuse/soften the light by perhaps cover the bulb with a tracing paper which is definitely a fire hazard but gives you an idea how I am thinking about approaching this in general, taking safety into account of course.

I wonder did anyone tried doing something similar and if you have a safe solution for this?

Can someone please explain this solid wood diffuser to me?

It is a piece of wood, and you pour some oil on it.

Some are really cheap

Some are insanely expensive

How do they work?

Does the oil absorb into the wood below? Or is that just a piece of decoration and the oil is just doing its job sitting there?

Does the material of the wood matter?

Does the wood expire after uses?

How powerful it it compare to reeds and electric diffusers?

Opinion on LED GU10? Thinking of changing my kitchen halogen.

My kitchen has 6 halogen lights. The ceiling is pretty low, about 8ft. As a result, that area can accumulate a fair bit of heat after leaving the lights on the whole day. I am thinking of switching to LED to reduce the heat output, not sure if that actually helps or just LED gimmick.

My switch is standard non dimmable. They are all currently 2700k which is my preferred warmth but 3000k will be fine too.

Is this tube too long for this door?

Is there a generic rule how much of a plank a screw or connector can go through before it is too much?

Complete stranger to smart home, which one should I get to help with scheduling.

Hi, I am a busy single living in a condo. I have bad memory and tend to forget important things 2 minutes later so I am thinking if there is a smart home assistant that can help me with voice activated reminders like "please remind to me pay my credit card bills in the evening".

Other than that I do not need much automation with any appliances or doors. I will probably want to do blinds and lights though.

Also it will be great if nothing is done through my phone, since I am very detached from my phone. It is basically use for calls and formal text. I do most things on my PC.

Can anyone please share their experience and opinion? Thanks.

Looking for suggestions - Single VESA monitor desk mount, but two different kind.

Hi, I have a triple 27" monitor setup. I am planning to switch to VESA desk mount, clamp style. Instead of a single triple mount, I have decided to go for 3 single mounts.

Stability is important and once setup, these monitors barely need adjustments except for height when cleaning and even that will be rare. Therefore I would prefer them to have as few rotatable joints as possible. The middle one can be a single axis mount, but the two on the side will need some extension and rotation of reach outwards and align with the middle one.

I will really appreciate if you guys can share your experience with any similar setup and suggestions as to which ones are really good.

Thank you.

New to macropads, can they do these?

Hi, my work involves a lot of repetitive clicking and entering various strings, and a lot of waiting for the network to load the interface. I have never used a marcopad before, and have no experience with it.

Can I program a macropad to have the cursor click on a certain coordinates of a screen and enter a string? So when the interface loads I can just click a button or two, and the cursor will click on a field, enter the string. Since there are several of these fields (at different coordinates) and several of these strings of different combination, I would need quite a few buttons to accomplish whatever combination required i.e click on coordinate A and enter B string or click on coordinate C and enter E string.

Does frost bomb exposure snapshot?

I see many creators for casters like to spec into exposure bonuses in weapon set 2 passive skill tree, usually along with curses etc. When I cast frost bomb in weapon set 2, and switch back to 1, by the time it detonates and apply exposure does it still benefit from weapon set 2 passives?

I always thought it does, and I have been doing this for 3 leagues. Then I saw a creator using frost bomb in weapon set 1, and instead only use elemental weakness in 2.
