Hi all. 42 here and been showing symptoms of perimenopause for about 2 years now (a total of 7 hot flashes, some hair thinning, and as of this year my period days went from 5 days to 2) and today my skin has been itching/tingling to the point where I am about to scream.
I wanted to inquire to the older ladies here- has HRT worked for you? Experiences??? Pros/Cons? Any specific brand you found useful? Or alternative things I should look at? When I inquired about peri meno w my dr she said its a part of life but as of today I'm strongly considering on looking into HRT but I dont know much about it.
I am estranged from my mother so I dont have a resource there to inquire there either. Thank you 🥹🥹🥹

Bacalao Vizcaina is a basque/northern spain fried cod dish served w a romesco sauce. I followed the recipe below but used two tomatoes, and added 1 tsp caper liquid for more flavor.

Seared shishitos: in a hot pan (no oil) put in washed shishitos and salt to taste. Mix/turn frequently as they will blister. Upon desired doneness remove from pan and put into serving dish, and season w pepper (i do not add pepper while cooking to prevent it from burning). Optional: garlic/onion powder (again do not season w this until it is not in the hot pan anymore).

Great recipe-for anyone who would like to make im including the recipe. Did follow the tip to bake the tofu along with omitting the sugar from the sauce.
Did add extra green peppers from the garden and sliced mushrooms.
Great recipe, was so hungry I forgot to add the peanuts. Did follow the recommendation of baking the tofu and also omitting the sugar from the sauce.
Did add some extra green peppers from the garden along w sliced mushrooms.
Instead of Halloumi as its expensive I used Queso de Frier. Also added spinach for more nutrients.
Made this before w queso de frier (latin frying cheese- its cheaper but also a nice melty salty cheese); also added spinach for extra nutrients♥️

I've been seeing alot of photos lately w cats wearing shirts- as does my littlest one, Cid. I think he likes that they are snug and provide a "warming hug" feeling (he always purrs when he gets them on), and especially in winter I think he likes they provide additional warmth since his fur is quite thin 🥰🥹🥰
I'm currently planning (and prepping harder than ever) for the remainder of the year.
They include doing a fall/winter garden (I have not done this before) and am already prepping seedlings by my area's planting schedule to hopefully maximizing my harvest.
Fall/Winter Crops I am looking into Carrots, Brussel Sprouts, Cabbage, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Kale, Spinach, Radishes, and Peas. (Do you have any recommendations for other fall crops? I live in Central NC Zone 8)
I'm also considering eating the cabbage/cauliflower/and broccoli leaves (probably sautee, stirfry, or braise) as it is edible and I want to minimize on food waste. Also going to be planting strawberry seeds and letting them start in grow bags so that I can take them into the garage over winter.
I am also considering buying an indoor shelving unit with grow lights for continual herbs and probably leafy green harvest through the winter months. If you happen to have an indoor shelving/garden setup - what lights do you use/recommend?
What are your plans for the remainder of the year to prepare? Please share I just feel like I may be missing something :')
This was located near Guane, Santander Region of Colombia . Unsure of the species but recognized it as a major from AntsCanada 😅

I decided to try this dinner option on a whim because I was feeling lazy tonight, and while cooking/tasting i feel there a few things you can also do to help this taste better and also beef it up to last longer. Otherwise, for a easy dinner asian option I would give this a solid 7/10, and after a few modifications this can easily reach 8/9 out of 10.
The meat and veg portion of this was a bit minimal so I ended up adding 3 sliced Bella mushrooms to it (all I had left in the fridge but more would be great!). Also I added some fresh chopped spring onions (also from aldi) bc I love onions and why not. Also hot pepper flakes 🔥 I added all of these in along w the noodles.
The sauce was a bit sweet, which maybe palatable for many but if you also happen to find it too sweet, try adding about 1 tsp of rice vinegar. If you do not have that- use normal vinegar. Mix well and taste- this should cut the sweetness. Adjust to your personal taste if necessary.
At the very end I added about 2 handfuls of spinach mix and stirred until the residual heat wilted them. Im always looking for ways to get more veg in and this fit perfectly.
Other Ideas if you want to boost this:
Add additional chopstick/sliced carrots or bell peppers! Make sure they are thinly sliced so they cook quickly with the rest of the ingredients.
Adding sliced jalapenos would also be good if you're looking to kick it up a notch.
God tier: serve with a side of kimchi 🔥🔥🔥
Make an easy sesame broccoli side dish:
In boiling salted water, add 1 head of chopped broccoli (bite size pieces) along w about 1 tbsp of toasted sesame oil. Boil until tender (about 5-7 min) and remove/strain. The sesame oil will offer a 'slight' non overpowering flavor. Garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
Anyway that is my review and adjustments for this easy dinner option!!!
Why do their teeth look like little grains of rice 🤣🥰
