Obsessed, is it healthy?🤣🫶🏻

You guys🥹 I just can’t get over how much I love plants and all my plant babies. I am sitting here with butterflies in my stomach just thinking about all the new leaves growing on my plants. Ugh is this obsession healthy?🤣 thank god I have a full-time job or I’d be staring at these babies 24/7 watching them grow. I’m just a proud plant parent🥲🫶🏻

Retatrutide is changing way more than my weight… what is going on?

Has anyone else experienced this with retatrutide? Because holy shit.

I started Reta a few weeks ago expecting appetite suppression and weight loss. I’ve already lost around 10–15 lbs, which is great, but honestly the weight loss is the least interesting part to me.

I feel completely different.

The biggest thing is what feels like a massive reduction in inflammation. I noticed it almost immediately. My body just feels… lighter? I can walk forever now without feeling exhausted. My energy is dramatically better and more consistent.

But the WEIRDEST change has been my menstrual cycle. Historically, the week before my period and my actual period could absolutely wipe me out. Fatigue, inflammation, cramps, just generally feeling like garbage. This cycle I worked effortlessly through the entire week before my period AND during it. My cramps were minimal. I kept waiting for the usual crash and it just… never came.

Then there’s the reward/craving stuff.

I barely crave alcohol anymore. Same thing with weed. I’m not actively trying to avoid either one. I just genuinely don’t care about them the way I did before. The desire is almost gone.

And of course the food noise/appetite reduction is there too, but somehow that feels like only one small part of what this is doing.

It honestly feels like someone flipped a metabolic switch in my body.

I know retatrutide is a GLP-1/GIP/glucagon triple agonist and there are plausible explanations involving insulin sensitivity, inflammation, energy regulation and reward pathways, but I’m fascinated by how quickly and SYSTEMICALLY I felt the difference.

Obviously this is just my n=1 experience and I’m not claiming Reta is treating PMS, inflammation, addiction, etc. I’m especially curious about the mechanisms behind all of this.

For people who have been on Reta longer:
Did you experience anything similar beyond weight loss? Especially changes in inflammation, physical endurance/energy, PMS or periods, alcohol/weed cravings, or other reward-seeking behaviors?
And if you did, did those effects stick around?
Because right now I’m sitting here wondering what kind of holy grail metabolic switch I accidentally stumbled across. 😂

GUYS I DID IT 😭 I negotiated the offer I wanted and I could cry

GUYS I DID IT 😭 I accepted the school contract position!!!
I negotiated and got the rate I wanted, AND I even got 2 PTO days. I know 2 days might not sound like much, but for a 32-week school contract, I will absolutely take it lol.
I genuinely could cry right now. My husband has been having a really hard time finding a job, so financially things have been incredibly stressful for us. I had gotten to the point where I felt like I could not catch up no matter what I did. Every bill felt like another thing I couldn’t get ahead of, and I was honestly just exhausted and overwhelmed.
This new position should bring in over $2,000 more per month than I’m currently making in private practice. That is HUGE for us. For the first time in a while, I feel like I can actually see what’s ahead of me instead of constantly worrying about how we’re going to make everything work.
The craziest part is that this time last year I was starting a travel position and making great money with the tax-free stipends. When I left travel therapy, I really thought I’d never get close to that income again unless I traveled. But I went back into the school contract world, stuck to the number I wanted, negotiated, and somehow got pretty damn close. It’ll be taxed this time, obviously, but I don’t even care. 😭
I’m just so freaking relieved. And proud of myself for advocating for what I needed instead of accepting less because I was scared to lose the opportunity.
Private practice was just not it for me. I tried. I really did. But I feel like I can finally breathe and be excited about my life again.

I DID IT 😭

Could insulin resistance be contributing to the rise in adult ADHD symptoms?

Okay I just went down a rabbit hole about this and now I can’t stop thinking about it lol.
There’s obviously been a huge uptick in adults getting diagnosed with ADHD, but at the same time insulin resistance is becoming SO common. And apparently insulin resistance can affect focus, memory, energy, brain fog, executive functioning, etc… which sounds a whole lot like some of the symptoms people are experiencing with ADHD.
Then you have all these people taking GLP-1s/GIP meds, especially reta, saying their brain suddenly feels quieter, they can focus better, have less food noise, and just feel more mentally clear.
I’m definitely not saying ADHD is caused by insulin resistance lol. But it does make me wonder how many people have ADHD symptoms that are being made WAY worse by insulin resistance, or even symptoms that are mimicking ADHD.
Especially with how much our diets/metabolic health have changed as a population… I just feel like there has to be more research on this connection??
Has anyone noticed their ADHD symptoms/focus change significantly after starting a GLP-1/GIP or improving their insulin resistance?

Do NOT use Dave unless you want random money gone for weeks

Dave banking has frustrated me for the last time. For the THIRD time, I have a random charge on my account that is “pending”, but no hopes of it changing anytime soon. This money is not accessible, but in some “limbo” that Dave says they cannot help with. The last two times this happened, the pending charge stayed pending for over 12 business days. Keep in mind, some of these are DOUBLE charges from places I’ve been, and they will show “pending” on one charge. This was my last $80 for the week and it’s now in limbo😭 asked them what I’m supposed to do with a bank balance of $0 when $80 should still be there. Guess I’m scrounging for change in the couch until Friday 🙃

What to do… 🙃

Looking for some advice because I feel like I’m at a crossroads and can’t decide if I’m thinking logically or just feeling burned out.
My husband has been out of work since December. We got married at the beginning of February, and he finally got his green card in the middle of June, so he’s now able to work and has been applying everywhere. Since it’s just been my income for the past several months, finances have definitely been tighter than we expected.
Before this job, I was on a travel contract making about $1,000 more per paycheck than I make now. The contract ended, so I accepted a salaried position at a private practice. After taxes, insurance, retirement, etc., I’m bringing home just under $2,400 per paycheck.
I’m in the Denver, Colorado area, and I’m consistently seeing around 35-40 patients a week now. I honestly feel exhausted. I love my patients and my coworkers are great, but by the end of the week I feel completely drained. Lately I’ve been finding myself really missing home health. I liked having more flexibility during the day, seeing fewer patients, and feeling like I had a little more control over my schedule.
I’ve been running the numbers, and if I went back to home health, I’d probably make about what I’m making now with around 25-30 visits a week. The biggest thing holding me back is my car. I financed a new car in January, and I absolutely hate the thought of putting all those miles and wear and tear on it.
One of the companies I’m looking at has a program where you lease one of their vehicles for about $100 per paycheck. They cover the insurance, maintenance, and provide a gas card (around $70/month), and you’re allowed to use the vehicle anywhere in the state. My husband has his truck, so we’d still have another personal vehicle. Honestly, that sounds like a pretty good deal to me.
My biggest concern is building a caseload. I know home health can sometimes take a little while to get established. I’ve been thinking about asking if I could start by doing evaluations or working PRN while keeping my private practice job, then slowly transition over once I know I have enough patients. It seems like the safest option, but I don’t know if I’m just making this more complicated than it needs to be.
Part of me keeps telling myself to wait until my husband finds a job because that would take a lot of the financial pressure off. But another part of me feels like I’m working really hard, seeing a high volume of patients, and still not making enough for it to feel sustainable. I’m trying to figure out if I’m just burned out or if it’s actually time to make a change.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? If you were in my shoes, would you stick it out a little longer, try to ease back into home health while keeping the private practice job, or just make the jump? I’d really appreciate hearing what others have done, especially if you’re in the Denver area and have experience with home health.

Sous Vide Cannabutter Method (Way Easier Than I Expected)

Okay I finally tried sous vide decarb + cannabutter and honestly I’m never going back 😭
I live in an apartment, so smell was my biggest concern. The smelliest parts were definitely grinding the flower and transferring it into the butter after decarb. Other than that, the smell was honestly about the same as if someone rolled a joint inside, not smoked it. Way less intense than I expected.
I used:
• 7g flower
• vacuum sealer + double bagged it
• sous vide at 197°F for 2.5 hours to decarb
• 1 cup butter in a mason jar
• infused at 185°F for 4 hours
I put a knife in the bag to weigh it down, but next time I definitely need more weight because the bag started floating from the gas buildup during decarb lol.
After infusion I strained it through cheesecloth and put it in the fridge overnight.
The butter came out SUPER green and honestly looks insanely potent. Tastes mostly like butter with a little weed taste.
This seriously felt like the cleanest and easiest method I’ve tried so far.

Charged $350 for adding an occupant?

Location: Colorado, USA

I have been residing in an apartment here near Denver, CO for about 10 months (lease term 10 months) and just renewed for another year. My husband (pretty new) is planning on moving up here with me soon and I asked to add him to my lease. I was told this would be a $50 application fee and an additional $350 for “one time change of residents fee.” I did respond and ask if this is typical for just adding an occupant, but wanted to check here. Has anyone ever heard of a $350 charge to add someone to their apartment lease? I just feel like I’ve already paid admin fees and my deposit, it’s just confusing. I expected an application fee up to $100, but wasn’t aware there would be additional charges..
