I'm going to be moving from Abbotsford to Victoria between now and October, so will need to visit Victoria in person to see apartments (hopefully as many as I can cram into 1 day).

Plan is to hop on the first ferry, and come back to the mainland on the last one. But I haven't set foot on a BC Ferry in damn near 20 years, so anyone have any tips for what day that'd be best? I have to book weekdays off in advance so I can burn sick days, so I can save my PTO for the actual move...

Apparently one or more buildings on the Mainland are consolidating by next year, and they're apparently going to switch to contractors for some areas of the Fraser Valley. Union won't confirm shit, company won't confirm shit, so my supe suggested looking to maybe transfer to the Island for more a more permanent location.

Looks like there are postings for Nanaimo and Victoria, but I'm wondering if there's actually enough volume out there to survive off of as the new bottom-feeder? Starting from zero building seniority will suck, but at top rate it's not as bad provided there's at least some work available...

How many packages have been lost on my route in the last 12 months? 2. 2 packages. 1 of which I was able to locate the next day.

But don't worry! They've also capped everyone's hours at 9.5/day and are handing out write-ups for anyone who goes even a minute over! So extra time at every stop that should be a DR, but less time to make all deliveries. Brilliant. Our DM should be given an award or something.

Recently noticed that a sort of metallic grinding/rubbing noise is occurring while driving my '09 B16 Spec-V. Happens in or out of gear, and increases based on speed, not engine RPM.

And when I give it a boot full at ~1500-2200rpm, it almost sounds like a damn kitchen garberator. But then once it's above 2200, it purrs like a kitten all the way up to the redline.

I'm assuming they're two separate issues, and I'm waiting to hear back from a local shop for when I can drop it off. But I'm curious if anyone else has had similar issues and might know the cause/fix?

150km non-LSD, if that matters. And yes, the shifter is something I'll have to fiddle with at some point too...
