Been playing 16 years. Finally had a breakthrough to stop early extension.
Took a lesson, and my teacher taught me to start my downswing by ripping my left hip back. I used to start it with a lateral bump to my lead side, and by switching the sequence up, I've been able to fix my early extension, hit less of a hook, picked up speed, and maintain my angles much better. Much more comfortable just going after it from the top with that hip back move.
