The timeline of the Stormlight Handbook RPG feels a bit limiting.

If you wanted to set a campaign in the modern day of the Stormlight setting it seems like there's only 1-2 years of space to set it in right? Spren didn't start forming bonds again until several months to a year after the events of the first book. And in the last book Retribution largely makes the radiants powerless. The tight timeline feels fairly restrictive as some campaigns/stories have the potential to last for years of in world time. I know there are thousands of years of "prehistory" a campaign could be set in but it feels like Roshar would be an entirely unfamiliar place 2000 plus years ago. The political map, fabrials, and even the names of some countries would be entirely different. Many cities in the modern day wouldn't even be around, let alone be as they're described in the modern day. I guess a campaign could go into the setting as it's ruled by Retribution and have a guerilla warfare/behind enemy lines feel to it. Task the players with finding some way to access usable Light again?

[WaT] Progression Capabilities?

At the end of Wind and Truth when Kaladin becomes a herald it happens in 2 parts. There's the Oath part where he swears to become a herald and then there's the immortality part. I remember Ishar saying something about needing the power of progression to grant the immortality that the heralds have. Something about a consistently renewing spirit web maybe? So is progression capable of granting immortality? Can anyone sufficiently skilled in progression achieve it?

Can a man be an architect in Alethi society?

I’m towards the end of book 2 and started to wonder if men can be architects. It involves construction but also math and drawing diagrams. I think men can be engineers right?

A secondary question is if a spren was looking for someone studious or artistic it seems like the only real option would be a woman.

What’s the likelihood of this game having a mod workshop on steam?

I’d like to get the game on either PlayStation or Xbox to support physical media. However if the game is likely to have a mod workshop on steam I might go for pc.

Is it just me or are summers here insufferable now?

When I was a kid I don’t remember summers being this hot and sticky out. It’s only 84 but feels hotter than that. Maybe I’m just being a wimp but summers to me are way worse now.

What do Circle Mages that specialize in combat magic do during peace time to make money for the circle?

Mages work to make money for the circle so the circle can stay a mostly independent body right? Its mages make potions and put runes on equipment, act as advisors or researchers, etc. What do combat oriented mages do during peace time to be profitable or productive for the circle?

What types of people are embraced by the Ministry?

I know they’re supposed to be a cult mixed with politicians but I can’t pin down anything in particular that would make a minister embrace a person. They seem like they’re all over the place. If a person is religious I could see them being snagged by the lasombra or banu haquim. If they’re politically gifted that screams Ventrue or toreador. If they’re an open minded bullshitter that sounds like a brujah to me. What’s their niche?

Plus what happens to all the one’s who aren’t into the whole societal doomsday cult thing?
