Hey I am 27 years old, i graduated from one of the top private dental colleges in india in 2023 . I was a gold medalist in my college so I thought of taking a year drop for neet mds as i was sure of myself that i would get into a govt college ( doing mds from pvt college was not feasible as my parents have already spent a lot of money on my BDS which was around 35 lacs Rupees for 5 years) , so in 2024 i gave neet mds and my score was not enough to get into a government college my rank was getting me non clinical in GDC but i didn’t want to do mds in Opath so i left it , I again took an year drop as i knew where i was lacking and needed ver few more marks to get into clinical branch of my choice so I gave mds exam again in 2025 and my score went down from what it was before , even after preparing so well , i was very far from getting any government college seat , i thought i would now join a pvt clinic as i am not able to clear the exam.
And then i felt sick i got an autoimmune disorder because of which i had to take rest for 6 months . Now that i have recovered i feel so disappointed of myself as i have not been able to achieve anything, still not earning and being dependent on my parents for everything. Not done anything academically neither i have done anything clinically
I see my friends most of them will be completing their masters this year and few have already completed and joined as SRs or opened their own clinics and few of them who have got in aiims and gdcs and opened their own clinics are earning so well and doing great in life , and here i am doing nothing and still at level zero , its been exactly 3 years today since i have graduated and i have not done anything till now and the worst part is I belong from Reserved category i only needed under 1k rank to get into a clinical branch and i was not able to get that . My batchmates who have flunked in dental school and were not that good in studies or clinical have joined good clinics doing so well. In my entire batch i am the only one who have not achieved anything .
I am a shame to my family as well , as both my parents are retired now and they have spent a lot on me. We don’t have a lot of money that i can open i own clinic plus i am not that confident in myself as i have not done anything clinical since 3 years .
