literally ready to give up on live music at this point (thirty seconds to mars / rant)

honestly just venting because the bot situation is absolutely destroying the live scene. trying to get anything decent is a joke now. sat in a waiting room recently and just watched tickets vanish instantly to scalpers using ai scripts that bypass captchas like they dont even exist

I was reading that thirty seconds to mars is actually reserving tickets for their 2027 tour only for verified humans. apparently they use that world id thing where u have to go to a physical Orb to prove you aren't a script or whatever. The idea of having to literally prove my physical existence just to go to a gig feels a bit dystopian ngl

but then I look at the absolute trash fire that is ticketmaster right now... and im kind of at the point where id do it if it means getting a pit ticket at face value instead of paying $600 to some shady reseller on stubhub

like is this just what touring is gonna be now? we either fight thousands of bots or we scan ourselves just to see a band? the whole ticketing industry is so broken man.

back pain started 8 months ago after lifting at work and nothing helps

my back hurts so bad every day since i lifted something heavy at work 8 months ago. it started with a sharp pain and now its constant ache that makes sitting or standing hard for long. i tried pain pills stretches and even physical therapy but nothing made it better for more than a day or two and im so tired of it messing up my sleep and work.

im thinking about seeing a chiropractor but i read here on reddit that a lot of people say it is a scam and i dont know why. i found virginia family chiropractic in alexandria and spoke with them they said it will work great and help in about 8 to 10 sessions with adjustments and exercises.

why do people call it a scam if this place seems sure it can fix the pain and what should i ask them first?

wondering if promotional products really boost brand awareness for new businesses

im new to running a small business and wondering if investing in promotional products is actually worth it for marketing or if its mostly just hype that doesnt lead to real brand recognition.

i found online a site and they offer custom branding on stuff like apparel drinkware and pens with good options for logos and fast production which seems useful for getting the name out there without huge upfront costs.

is it worth spending on these for a new business and what specific products like pens or tshirts tend to give the best results for awareness? any real experiences would help.

Has anyone ever described you in a way that made you see yourself completely differently?

Could be good or bad. Just something someone said about you that reframed how you thought about yourself and kind of stayed there

My electric bill has doubled in two years, but I haven’t changed anything. Is my old hot water system silently leaking money?

I feel like I’m losing my mind.

Our electricity bill has basically doubled over the last couple of years and I genuinely don’t understand what changed. We haven’t added a pool, crypto mining setup, indoor rainforest… nothing dramatic.

Someone casually mentioned old hot water systems can become super inefficient and quietly cost way more to run as they age and now I’m staring suspiciously at the tank in the garage like it personally betrayed me.

It still technically works, but it definitely sounds older and angrier than it used to.

I ended up reading about hot water heat pump systems after falling into a late night energy bill rabbit hole, but before I go fully into replacement mode:

Did anyone here find out their hot water system was secretly the reason bills got ridiculous?

I feel like my skin actually looked better back when I had a super basic routine. The more products I add, the more irritated and textured my skin seems to get. At first I thought I just needed to “push through” while my skin adjusted but now I honestly cannot tell if I am helping my skin or making it worse
Right now my routine is not even that extreme but my skin feels drier more sensitive and somehow less balanced than before. I keep seeing people online with these huge routines and amazing skin so I am wondering if maybe I am just using the wrong products or if my skin simply does better with less. Did anyone else realize their skin preferred a simpler routine?

The tourist strips down here are actually just an endurance test now

literally just spent an hour and a half trying to get across the causeway and I think my soul actually left my body somewhere near star island
the main south beach area is pure chaos rn. dodging influencers doing dances on the sidewalk, gridlock traffic everywhere, and getting charged like $35 for a drink that is mostly melted ice. there is zero space to just sit and breathe without someone blasting bad house music directly into your skull

hit an absolute wall by the afternoon. Finally just bailed and fled down to the grove to escape the concrete. the vibe shift is honestly insane. ended up grabbing a spot outside at glass and vine under those huge trees in the park and just sat there trying to lower my blood pressure. no screaming tourists, just shade and actual breathing room

curious how you guys survive when out of town family visits and insists on doing the whole loud miami experience. i feel like im officially too old to just power through the noise anymore tbh. my social battery is completely in the negatives right now

I recently started learning floral arranging at home and I am still very much a beginner. Every time I try to put a bouquet together, it ends up looking uneven or kind of empty no matter how many stems I use. I move things around, try different heights and angles, but it still does not look as full and balanced as professional bouquets
When I look at florist work, everything looks so natural but still structured at the same time, and I cannot figure out what I am missing. I am not sure if it is about technique, choosing the right combination of flowers, or just practice over time
Are there any basic principles or beginner tips that helped you understand how to build a fuller, more balanced arrangement?
