The season pass should be open-ended and still give some basic rewards when you keep early XP after level 30

I hit level 30 a few days ago, and I've still ended up getting so many XP since from the refreshing daily, weekly and monthly objectives, and all the stuff in the campaigns section. I feel like there really should be some basic rewards for continually early XP after level 30. At the moment there's now no incentive to play Rush because it wont get me any more XP rewards, and less incentive to keep playing quite as many games because I've already capped out.

Literally unable to play MTGO - getting 'main navigation is not responding' every single time on startup

Just about sick of this shitty game client now. Been having problems for almost a decade, getting worse and worse as time goes on. Awful laggy gameplay, insane loading times, and now this. The past year it would probably freeze and break every other time I tried to boot up the client, but now it's literally every time and nothing will work.

No other game I've ever played has problems like this. I've tried deleting the cache and clean reinstalling so many times.

Has anyone crossed the Jordan-Iraq border? Trying to find some more information

I'm planning another long bicycle trip and really wanted to do Cairo to Cape Town, but Sudan is far too dangerous for the foreseeable future. Instead I'm thinking of going Iraq > Jordan > Saudi Arabia > fly to Ethiopia > carry on cycling down east Africa from Addis Ababa as normal.

As far as I'm aware from seeing other overlander report that getting to Baghdad is fine, but then it's endless escorts west towards the Jordan border, so I'm looking at getting the direct bus from Baghdad to Amman across the border instead.

Has anyone done this crossing before? How was it as a foreign citizen? I can see from pinpoints on overlander hub apps like RollingAround and iOverlander that people do actually do this route, but there's no way of contacting them for more information.

Spec racing: I do fine with AWD and RDW , but everyone else is quicker on identical strights and corners faster in FWD

I can hold my own completely fine in AWD and RDW racing, but in the RWD spec racing, everyone else seems so much faster, even on those trash tracks that barely require braking on any corners. On the starting straight cars pull away from me, and on long sweeping corners that required zero braking, cars pull away from me. I've seen this a few times in FWD and RWD and guessing it's down to manual shifting instead of automatically, but it seems to happen every race with every other driver in the lobby when it comes to a FWD car, so can't solely be down to manual gears.

Any ideas? I've got stability control turned off, and ABS/TCS shouldn't be affecting the cars on straight and sweeping corners.

I don't understand why online spec racing doesn't just just cycle through every cars in the game instead of a small pool

It seems pretty stupid that spec racing isn't just a random car every time and instead just cycles through the same small pool of cars. This game prides itself on having hundreds and hundreds of cars, why isn't it using the whole roster? Especially for C and R class, it feels like we're using the same 5 cars every time.

There are a crazy amount of awesome dirt tracks not on the map… so why do so many dirt races feature 50% paved roads?

When I was first driving around the map, I was delighted to see how many random tiny dirt tracks there were winding through forests and across mountains, all over the map. Surely that was going to make for some amazing dirt racing courses?

NOPE

For some reason they’ve made it so dirt racing can only follow proper marked roads, meaning all these awesome tracks and trails go completely unused in the game. That also means so many of the ‘dirt’ races end up having huge portions of paved road to in between the marked dirt roads on the map. Reeks of laziness to be honest, whoever was in charge of coming up with absolute bare-minimum track designs. Which is a shame, because clearly lots of effort went into making the Japan map itself.

I have no idea how some of you guys play online a lot, it's absolutely insufferable because of rammers

I managed about 10 championships (30 races) before quitting. Can probably count on one hand the number of races I had where someone didn't ram me. It's not even just general bumping and jostling when there's a pack of high speed cars, it's like every other clean overtake on a straight, someone will just veer straight into me to stop my passing and send me into the wall where I'll be fucking penalised with a slowdown and they get away.

Every sharp corner follows the same pattern of: I start braking normally > someone behind can't drive and brakes late > they go into the back of me > I get shunted into the wall for a slowdown penalty > they get around the corner perfectly because they used me as a brake

Unless you're using one of the absurdly OP meta tunes where you can finish 5 seconds ahead of the rest of the lobby, it's just constant ramming in 'the pack' the whole race. Last time I played online was FH3 where it was somewhat tolerable, and it's somehow gotten even worse since then.

Insane how many people don’t indicate to exit a roundabout

Small, medium, large multilane, it doesn’t matter. It feels like about 1/4 of drivers don’t bother to indicate when they’re leaving a roundabout, and it does my head in. Stressful enough trying to learn without the amount of idiots on the road making it hard enough for everyone else. I’ve been a cyclist my whole life before starting to learn to drive, and had no idea the standard of public driving was this bad until getting behind the wheel of a car.

As a classic car fan, this car lineup is a bit disappointing. Seems like they’ve been cutting more and more classics every time since FH3/4

Of course I like cars from all eras, but my favourite is 1950/60/70s, and they seem to have cut so many of those cars this time around to focus on more modern stuff for Japan. FH4 was great for this era of classic with the manufacturers of Triumphs, Morgans, MGs, and plenty of era cars from other countries’ brands, but scrolling through the car list now, there’s barely any of them. Sad that MG is in the game with the Metro, but they don’t even have the MGB roadster/GT like in older games, which is by far the most common British classic car. There’s endless Audi, BMW, Porsche variants that looks so similar, yet they’ve cut back on other unique looking cars like Plymouth Prowler, Morgan Aero, Donkervoort GTO, Austin Frogeye sprite etc

A bit disappointing tbh. You can drive modern cars in any driving game ever made, but I liked FH for the selection of pre-1980 cars, and it seems like that peaked in FH3/4, and has been getting neglected since.

Haven't played in about 2 years, are there any big new metas I should be aware about?

I just play maps on the r/geochallenges sub and occasionally battle royales so I'm not trying to build up an elite-level of bollard and telegraph pole knowledge, but I used to know which country I was in without moving 90%+ of the time.

What new countries have been added (or massively updated so a common old metas don't work anymore)?

Thanks

Talk to me about the Philippines- how is it for cycle touring?

Has anyone cycled around the Philippines? Despite being a big tourist destination, it's not somewhere that I've heard many people cycling across. I'd like to include it in a Japan/S. Korea/China/Taiwan trip to East Asia in the future, it's just a shame there's no ferry access from any nearby countries anymore!

I've heard a few people say it's busy, but I think over time I've become completely desensitised to lots of traffic. I can't imagine there's more people around than Java for example, and that was tolerable!

What's the accomodation, camping options, road conditions etc like?

Thanks

Some photos from Indonesia- Baluran NP (Java) and Mausui Savannah (Flores). The rangers said I was the first cyclist they've seen

I've been cycling the past year from UK to Indonesia and decided to get off the beaten path in the final country.
Baluran National Park in NE Java didn't have a connecting on the map but I could see a faint trail on google satellite view, so decided to go for it. Camped with the rangers and they said I was the first foreigner they've seen crossing that part of the park.
Mausui Savannah on Flores was similar, there's nothing on the maps but I could see a few faint shepherd trails. Amazing experience, I wonder if anyone has ever been here on a bicycle before, I couldn't find any reports online. The handful of local shepherds seemed completely baffled to see me.

(Plus a bonus photo of probably the best sunrise camping spot I'll ever get @ Mt Bromo on Java!)

MTGO gets slower and slower and slower over time no matter how many caches clear or clean installations I do

I've got a 10 year old laptop with SSD and Nvidia card which isn't great, but it should be more than capable of running some stupid program like this.

I've made sure all my drivers and latop settings are the most up to date they can possible be, but MTGO just gets slower and slower as the years go on.

It's becoming almost unplayable, every action is noticeably slower than my opponents', searching my collection (of only 2000 cards) is insanely slow, and searching for cards to buy in a tradebot is a complete joke. 30+ second wait between typing a card name and pressing search, to it actually appearing.

When I first open the client, there's about 2 minutes of freezes before it becomes usable too.

Any ideas? I've followed all the usual troubleshooting, like deleting 2.0 app files, clearing the cache, clean installation etc.

Has cycle touring ruined ‘normal’ travel for you?

I’m pretty deep in bike touring- cycled on every continent, multiple 1+ year long years etc, and I think it’s completely ruined regular travel for me.

At the moment I’ve just finished a yearlong UK > Indonesia trip, and did get burned out by the riding at the end. I’ve got a scuba diving trip planned in Indonesia much further east in the country and decided to stop riding in Bali and spend the next few weeks relaxing and slowly making my way east on public transport like a normal backpacker would.

But I just enjoy it as much. I love the sheer freedom having a bike gives you, even something like just not having to get a taxi to get 3 miles down the road to the bank or the hotel. Seeing areas of foreign countries that no one else does. Maybe this sounds pompous, but I really like not being seen as a normal tourist by the locals too. Not even just rural areas; people seem so much more curious and friendly when I pull up at a restaurant with a loaded bike rather than a typical backpacker.

I’ve packed my bike in a box ready to store in and then fly home in a couple of weeks, but every single thing I do, I wish I was doing independently rather than relying on public transport or going on a tour. Every half an hour I’ve been flip-flopping between being content that my cycling tour is over, and then being adamant that I’m going to pull the bike back out the box and carry on cycling. Even when physically burned out, my mind just wants to travel by bike instead of with a backpack.

———————

Does anyone else feel like same? Like the freedom of cycling has ruined how they feel about other ways of travelling?

It’s horrible because I think that if I did get back on the bike it’d probably be a mistake because I’m too tired, but every time I’m not on the bike I’m constantly missing it

I know it sounds like a silly cliche, but does anyone genuinely play better when they’re a bit buzzed from a few beers?

I’m on holiday at the moment, so for the first time ever I’ve been playing hours of pool every day which is really helping me see what I’m good or bad at.

I know it sounds like a silly bar myth, but I have genuinely been playing better recently after a handful of beers. I almost overthink shots and angles when I’m completely sober, and my straight draw action in particular is better (which is usually by far the worst part of my game). I get less annoyed after missing shots, and feel like I enjoy it when I catch people watching my shot out the corner of my eye, rather than feel pressure.

Anyone else have the same sort of issue? … and how can I ‘fix’ this?!
