Season Ticket Holder Survey Email

Did anyone else giggle at how that email came the day after we were all on a high from the amazing close out by Nneka at the 30th anniversary game?

My partner and I have yet to fill out, but just know we are about to tell this organization all about themselves. We’ve lived in Dallas and Vegas and can truly say that everything about attending a Sparks game is subpar- and when we were living in Dallas the wings were playing at UTA, but even still, it was a far better experience.

The Aces are all about their game day experience and I believe we got spoiled there, but LA needs to get their stuff together because how on earth were there soooooooo many empty seats during the 30th anniversary game. Does anyone in the front office feel any shame? Is anyone working there actually from LA and has pride in the local team? Idk, but we are going to respond as honestly as possible, and I just want to say that I hope you all do the same.

Dog Parks?

Hey neighbors! So I have 2 pretty big pups that require a lot of exercise, so we typically make our way to the LA Live dog park, or to Spring Street park (which isn’t technically a dog park but has ample running room for them) on a daily basis.

My preferred spot is Pershing Square when it isn’t gated off for a concert and I let them run around in the grassy area chasing birds until a security guard says something. I live in a historical building, so there isn’t a dedicated dog area, so morning and evening poops take place at Central Library on Flower. This is the norm for many of us as I see the same dogs and owners making that trip daily.

Now, for a neighborhood where I believe at least 1/4 of the residents have dogs, or maybe that’s just the make up of my building, there must be a local dog park that I am just oblivious to. I don’t mind walking to LA Live or Spring Street, but that mile each way isn’t always feasible on busy days. There is no way a city, and Downtown specifically, is so populated with dog owners, but there are no real dog parks.

Can you guys let me know where you take your dogs to run off leash around DTLA, especially areas in walking distance to the library? Thanks!

Grocery store kitchens?

So boom- on Twitter this guy shares one of the best looking plates I’ve seen in a while, and he said it’s $10 from Vallarta market. What other grocery stores do you know of that have really good and reasonable kitchens or restaurants in them?

Graduated in 2004, skipped exam, took it this morning and passed!

Back when I was in school, one of my hair clients offered me a 6 figure salary to help run and grow their business. She would come in weekly and we would just chat to the point where I was consulting her on how to reach new customers for her business. Once I graduated I decided to just go all in on the tech and sports startup life and for the past 20+ years never looked back. Well, on a whim, and with all of the changes happening in tech I decided to look back into cosmetology and scheduled my exam.

I truly thought that I would fail, but could use this as practice and to my surprise I finished the exam in 23 minutes and passed! Not sure that would have happened if CA still required practical. I have no clients or any idea what to do now (I also have a successful athlete marketing platform so I’m not at all stressed) but I’m so excited to finally be licensed after graduating in 2004.

I’ve considering going into the corporate side of beauty partnerships, but a part of me would love to be back behind the chair, even part time. I’m just shocked at how much of the knowledge I retained, but I know that I will need training on certain things should I decide to start styling again.

Has anyone else tested decades after graduation and passed?
