Blow Dryer/Hair advice
I (30F) am traveling to Japan for the first time for two full weeks in October! At home, I use a Shark FlexStyle blow dryer with a diffuser attachment almost daily to style my curly/wavy hair, and I usually travel everywhere with it because it folds to be extremely easy to pack. After doing some light research, it appears that my Shark dryer will be too high voltage to use in Japan. While I know there are blow dryers provided in most accommodations, I highly doubt there will be a diffuser attachment included and it may be difficult to buy one there since most people have naturally straight hair in Japan. So, I have several questions/seeking advice on a few things from anyone who may have experienced anything similar
\-Has anyone had experience with taking that particular hair dryer with them to Japan? If so, does it work at all or should I leave it at home?
\-Curly/wavy haired friends: Is it worth buying a universal diffuser attachment before my trip to take with me? And do you all have any styling advice from your experiences?
I know this may seem silly to some, but those with thick, curly, and/or wavy hair know how much easier is to deal with our hair when we have a good quality, reliable dryer and diffuser, and that our styling routines are not easy to deviate from.
While it’s easy to just say “just don’t worry about your hair while you’re there” or “just throw it up in a bun or ponytail every day, you’re not going to care that much” may not understand the struggle of having thick hair and/or wavy hair. Wearing it up too much whether it be in a clip, scrunch, ponytail holder, etc. can be a major source of headaches and neck pain because my hair is heavy, and due to its waviness and courser texture, it gets extremely unruly and frizzy if I don’t style it right. If I do style it right, my hair is usually good to go for 3-4 days go with less than 10 minutes worth of touching up to do in the morning.
Any and all recommendations, styling tips, or shared experiences are welcome!!!! Thank you in advance to all my fellow thick haired curly headed friends :)
