Starting as a Tutor

hi all, this is my second post here. people were very helpful when i asked for advice about being a tutor through english / music with B1 experience in another language. when i try to make my account there’s only an option to teach EITHER english or music. there’s no multiple options. is there anyone that has taught more than one subject? lots of people said english is oversaturated, and recommended finding niches for myself to teach. is it allowed to put myself under one category but teach multiple things? for example i say i teach english but also add musical tutoring, or vice versa?

thanks so much

Is English Tutoring Worth It?

i’m in my second gap year and just wanting to make extra money. i’m American and i want to tutor English on preply. i studied anthropology and i have a musical background and would be comfortable tutoring students on the clarinet / reading music. i was wondering how many people consider tutoring “worth it” especially as a side gig and not a career. i have full time availability but i see mixed reviews from people who have / currently tutor, and many that found Preply beneficial are tutors that have niches. I’m B1 in colloquial Levantine Arabic as well.

does anyone have tips or advice on becoming a tutor? i just wanting some extra money to save.

i wanted to ask here and not generative AI.

thanks

Birth Control and Hair Growth, Overall Vent Sesh

Hi, i have a long rant (not my first rant in here) and ask questions as i’m feeling very discouraged and insecure.

i know that i probably won’t have an exact answer until i see a gyno and even a dermatologist (both of which im scheduling soon) but thought id still come here, as i feel a bit lonely on this journey.

im not really seeing as much progress on my face as i should be seeing, or at least what i was quoted for by my electrologist. patches of my hair is also darkening very quickly, and new hairs are growing.

i’ve taken a break for a bit over a couple months because of how expensive it is and almost all of my hair that has been zapped has grown back.

some form of hirsutism runs in my moms family, whether its from PCOS/PMOS i am hoping to have my hormones checked again (it’s been about 4 years and they’ve always been normal even though i have an excessive amount of facial hair). my mom, aunt, and grandma all have dealt with facial hair. i have had facial hair since i started puberty when i was 11.

i have the Mirena IUD and i saw somewhere it can cause hair growth / worsen it. i dont know how true that is. has anyone else here had that IUD and can confirm? taking the IUD out isn’t an option for me as it helps a lot with cramping and PMDD.

and my technician i have mixed feelings about. we have cultural clashes at times but shes a good at her job. i have no scarring, i never feel plucking, shes very informative besides one incident (i posted here once about it a while ago). i feel defeated, lonely, and pretty insecure. i feel like ive wasted a lot of money just to see little progress. (i was quoted 12 sessions and i have completed 6)

i’m planning on scheduling a gyno and dermatologist appointment, and re continuing electrolysis after i’ve had some professional help to guide me.

maybe i was just being hopeful that more should’ve been cleared, but im not sure. sorry for the vent, thanks to anyone that reads this. any advice helpful.

Keana Nadeshiko Thoughts

I know this is J Beauty and not K Beauty but i frequent this sub more and typically only use K Beauty. However Im seeing this product everywhere online. What does everyone think of the Keana Nadeshiko Hydrating Rice Mask? i have deeply dry/sensitive skin with some redness and blemishes / enlarged pores. I saw this brand is affordable, but i also see influencers that frequently travel to japan buying this and wasn’t sure if it was bought out of its aesthetically pleasing packaging or if it’s actually worth it. it’s becoming summer where i’m at and there’s a lot of humidity, and typically my dry skin gets better but i can’t use my winter cream, so i was hoping to use the round lab birch soothing gel and maybe use a mask occasionally, and spot moisturize with the dokdo cream. i use the dokdo toner as well. i never used only one brand in my routine but around Lab is amazing for me, but some products are costly.

thanks!

Best “Affordable” Matcha?

Hi everyone, i live in a country where it’s hard to find matcha (becaus of tariffs) and the lattes in coffee shops seem to be made by the most soul deprived, flavorless people. i’m originally american and im hoping to find something that my mom can bring me when she comes to visit soon.

i want to ask what the best quality for affordable price matcha is that i can order to her home. i never made lattes at home as i was fortunate and lived next to lovely cafes in the US, however i want to start now, which is why im asking here. thanks

photo added since its needed ***

▲ 4 r/GRE

my exam is tomorrow and i’m really second guessing myself. my Quant skills could be better though i’ve made some improvement. i was wondering if the GRE questions are easier than the GREGmat questions on average? as i’ve seen people say this. sorry if not allowed but i want some support. i have the chance to retake it for math if needed (i need a 155Q and 150V, which, i know, are low scores) but i absolutely need the scores for verbal tomorrow. wish me luck.
