What are your go to linen/linen blend pants?

I’m looking to get some linen pants for summer. Looking for something that’s good quality and flattering!

In your experience, if you don’t do so well in an interview, will admin give you some grace if they know you and have been happy with your teaching?

I just did an interview at a school that I’ve done an LTO at. I’m not so happy with how I interviewed— I feel could’ve done much better. I had the option to do it online but I chose in person thinking it would make me less nervous… well I felt very nervous for
Some reason.

I have a good relationship with the principal. She has been in my classroom many times, gave me a great appraisal and she has said she loved having me at the school and would love for me to come back.

This is a permanent position and so it’s more competitive. So I’m wondering if someone interviewed better than me if they would have a better chance.

What are your thoughts/experiences?

Experiences going back part time instead of full time after mat leave? [on]

I’m a teacher and I’ve decided to go back part in September. My son will be 16 months. I’ll either do part time supply teaching or a part time permanent position. Money is going to be much tighter compared to what I’d be making if I were to were full time.

But I feel Iike full time teaching would be extremely overwhelming for me, and I also really value the time I have with my son.

What has been your experience?

Mom with young kids… part time supply teaching or full time LTO/permanent? I’m torn (ON)

Hi moms,
I’m a mom of a 14 month old. Prior to becoming a mom, I did 3 full year LTOs and I absolutely loved working full time.

My perspective has really changed now. I supply teach 1-3 times a week and I love the work/life balance and I love those days when I can spend time with my son.

I honestly cannot imagine going back full time, but I know the money and benefits are so much better as a full time LTO or permanent teacher. We can manage things financially but we obviously aren’t saving as much money as we were when I was working full time.

I’m torn about what to do. There are quite a few full time LTOs at the school I previously loved working at, and my colleagues are encouraging me to apply.

I know it’s only my choice to make, but I would love to hear other moms’ experiences with this situation. What did you choose to do, and were you happy with your choice?

Would you make a separate meal for a super picky 14 mo?

My son used to eat just about anything but starting at 13 months he became super picky. He won’t even eat berries any more. Basically only Mac and cheese, Dr praegers spinach littles, tots, cheese, and puffs. He will only eat one type of pouch and now refuses 99% of pouches.

I keep hearing that you shouldn’t be making separate meals for kids, but what if they’re clearly hungry but just refusing to eat what you serve?

As many people suggest, I always offer safe options in addition to the meal. Usually he will only eat the safe foods and just throw the rest on the floor.

By “separate meal,” I mean offering simple stuff like Cheerios instead. My concern is that he’s going to go to bed hungry.

Nightweaning your toddler—how did you do it?

My son is 13 months old and we cosleep and still breastfeed him throughout the night. He wakes anywhere between 3-6 times a night. Not always to breastfeed, but I always breastfeed him back to sleep because it’s the easiest way to get him back downs

I’m hoping to night wean him in around 3 months around the time I need to go back to work full time. I’m also hoping by then he’ll understand when I say no more milk at night.

Would love to hear your night weaning methods!

What to do if a special event happens during toddler’s nap time?

I have a 13 month old and he’s down to one nap a day, typical sometime from 12pm-2pm.

My cousin’s son’s baptism is in two weeks and it’s happening during nap time. The church service is at 10:30 and then lunch is at 12pm at a restaurant. How would you approach this? This is a close family member and they have gone out of their way to attend all of my son’s events. I am also close to them, and I know they would be hurt if I skipped the event just because of a nap. In my family, the reception is always the most important, so only going to the church part wouldn’t be an option.

I’m thinking of bringing the carrier and trying to put him to sleep in the carrier but who knows how that will go in a loud restaurant, lol

Night weaning: when and how did you do it?

Hi moms,
My son is almost 13 months and he still nurses at night for comfort. We cosleep. Wherever he wakes up I just boob him and he falls back asleep… I think he’s become too dependent on my boobs for falling back asleep but I’m just sooooo exhausted! Any suppose would be appreciated.
