Why are the rules inconsistent?

Watched it for the first time and I really liked it overall. I didn't have much trouble following the plot, I think it was presented quite logically once the premise clicks. However, after thinking about it some more, I find that the rules between inverted and normal objects within the universe are not consistent.

For example, when Kat gets shot, they have to invert her for her wounds to heal, then invert her back again. But why exactly would getting shot by an inverted bullet cause the wound to become inverted as well? Is the bullet inverting matter it gets into contact with? If so, that creates new issues because elsewhere in the movie, people are interacting with inverted objects constantly and it doesn't affect them. Even picking up an inverted bullet does nothing, but if the same bullet goes through your body, it suddenly inverts the wound?

You could say an inverted object only causes a change when enough energy is present (i.e. a high speed bullet vs. a stationary one), but that logic falls apart in a different scene. When the protagonist explodes inside the car, he gets frozen instead of burnt, i.e. heat transfer goes in reverse. By that same logic, Kats wound should then also be frozen, but it wasn't and became inverted instead.

As a Nolan fan, this was definitely a great watch for me, but I feel some of the logic and rules of the world were randomly changed to adjust the tone of a given scene.

Switched from Garmin today, so far very positive!

I bought Garmin 1040 last year, replacing my Bolt 2 as it was missing certain features.

I was initially quite happy with Garmin, although I noticed right away that the navigation is much worse than on Wahoo. The magenta route line is near invisible a lot of the times when riding outside. Wahoo had black chevrons that worked amazingly well for quickly glancing down at the map.

Anyway, after a year of making wrong turns on almost every ride because I couldn't see my planned route, I've simply had enough. Spent a lot of time comparing devices and, since I've already had Wahoo, the Karoo 3 seemed like the perfect choice.

First impressions are very positive. Obviously, the bright yellow navigation line is so much easier to see on screen! The overall UI is much more modern than Garmin. I also love how they managed to hide all the complexity - it seems Garmin had a ton of settings all over the place and it took me a long time to get familiar with everything. Karoo's interface felt natural right away and very easy to set up various things, despite offering basically the same features and settings. I like how the data fields are animated when editing the screens. I like that sensors can be tied to specific profiles (Garmin would keep searching for radar even with indoor profile, or for a power sensor when I was using a bike without one).

Extensions also solved the biggest reason for not switching to Karoo earlier - ability to turn off radar light when there are no cars behind me. Plus the newly added bell feature is also nice and something that I really wanted from a new bike computer. I already have about 5 or 6 other extensions bookmarked for later installation.

Compared to Garmin, Karoo feels like Wahoo in their early days, before the company went downhill and they were still trying to innovate. I'll definitely miss the exceptional battery life of the 1040, but I was willing to let that go just for the better navigation experience alone. Everything else that I've mentioned is just cherry on top.

Scott Spark 950, year 2023. Front suspension is RockShox Pike RL3 Air, rear RockShox Deluxe Select RL3 Trunnion. Both are modified designs for Scott (due to TwinLoc system).

I noticed that shocks won't lock. For those that don't know, Spark has partial lock and full lock settings, i.e. two steps. Front and rear shocks are both controlled from the same lever. Locking it partially or fully doesn't make any noticeable difference.

The first thing I checked was the lever, which seems fine. The cable is also as tight as I could get it. Even pushing the lever by only 1mm is enough for the cap to start rotating, i.e. it reacts immediately, so there doesn't seem to be any slack.

I've also tried all the tricks I found online (probably forgot a few):

  • pre-tensioning the lock cap
  • zip-tie burping
  • turning bike upside down and cycling the shocks
  • changing rebound to fastest and cycling the shocks
  • partially pushing down and then locking
  • giving it a few full-body-weight pushes

Another thing that might be important is that I didn't really notice any difference when setting rebound speed.

Second thing I noticed is there seems to be too much sag. I used the official calculator for setting the pressure (76psi for my weight). Using that gives 29% sag which, reading online, is too high.

Since I just bought the bike, it was probably sitting in a warehouse for a few years now. Not sure if that might have caused the oil to degrade. What bothers me the most is that both front and rear shocks aren't locking, which seems almost impossible.

"Just take it back to the shop" - it was ordered online, so there's no store I can just take it back to. I did open a dispute with them, but that might take a while and I'd like to get this fixed before if possible.

Any help is much appreciated!
