Medieval stasis is fine

People who gripe about “why hasn’t your technology advanced in 10,000 years” are lame and have forgotten what the point of fantasy is. I read and write fantasy because swords and castles are cool. I don’t care that the world I’m reading about hasn’t developed firearms yet. In fact I don’t WANT to think about an industrial revolution in my world.

Rule of cool man. It’s ok to have it.

EDIT: people seem to be misunderstanding. Yes, show me the evolution of your arms, armor, castles, regional powers etc. from crude bronze swords to crossbows, but once you start pushing into modern tech is where it starts to drift from being medieval fantasy.

When I left I just clocked in one day, said bye to some buds, clocked out hours before my shift ended and went outside to climb a sign in the parking lot to hang up and zip my vest over it. It ruffled some feathers in management, I heard.

Hate wearing this beret

I’m a leg in an airborne unit and have to wear this fuckass maroon beret everywhere and feel like a poser, and the chances of me actually going airborne are slim due to a prior surgery. Not to mention they’re just annoying asf to wear to begin with. I miss my pc.

Should I just call it quits

Broke my leg in basic training. Got a metal rod drilled through it and it never really stopped hurting. Just recently fell out of my first run because of the pain shooting up my knee. I pushed through my second cycle of BCT after recovering, AIT and now the first few months of my first duty station. But idk if I’m cut out for this anymore. Granted I didn’t really run over summer leave but if two weeks of vacation dials up the pain this much then idk if I should continue.

I’ll have a peanut butter and ibuprofen sandwich.
