O4 pro .0700 FW stutters HORRIBLY on my MP66 camera module

Great job DJI, you took a product that was working great with an MP66 gyro on .0400 / .0500 firmware and broke it, then broke it some more.

  1. be DJI
  2. replace MP66 with i469D to save 0.000042069$ per unit. do zero due diligence. wipe ass with stacks of customer complaints, pretend the issue doesn't exist
  3. release "fix" fw .0600 that does fuck all, and as a bonus feature REMOVES THE ABILITY TO DOWNGRADE to known good FW if you happen to have an MP66 or obtain one as a replacement part
  4. release another "fix" fw .0700 that actually punishes you for having an MP66. My O4 pro with MP66 replacement camera chip stuttered like absolute crap on .0700, I'm talking video lockups of a half second or more. It was unsafe and unflyable until I reverted to .0600

At the end of the day, I have about 600$ in 2 air units one i469D and one MP66. What I don't understand is how in the FUCK, DJI in their infinite wisdom has managed to break gyroflow / rocksteady on BOTH OF THEM

Seriously go fuck yourselves DJI. how do you screw up your top of the line vtx this badly. Make .0400 and .0500 fw available again, stop shipping garbage gyros on O4 pros, and fire your developers.

PS the O4 camera casing design sucks dick. I shouldn't have to dump B7000 in the whole shit just to stop it from vibrating, or the glass from separating from the sensor if I happen to crash a few times onto grass. But that's a whole other conversation that deserves its own post

Help me pick?

Not super familiar with tinywhoops and micro quads despite doing my basic research, so I figured I'd ask.

I want something that I can race in small parks, my backyard, and indoors. My 5 inch is super fun to race but it's stupidly loud, intimidates people, and attracts too many karens.

Gear wise, I have ELRS 2.4 radio and DJI goggles. Debating between:

- meteor 75 pro
- other O4 lite 2S whoop (if one exists?)
- building my own open prop 2.2" or 2.5" micro quad on an apex clone frame or similar

I have about 100 hours in sim and 50-60 packs mixed freestyle / racing on my 5 inch. Not a pro, but experienced enough to not immediately crash it into the tallest tree.

Thanks

second azure 5140 exploded

okay-ish props for freestyle but as soon as I started taking racing lines around trees trying to fly as fast as possible they've been blowing up mid air without hitting anything. this is the second one in a few days

I made sure to not crank the nut down, never expose props to loctite, etc. are these just not as durable as say, gemfan or HQ?

DIY 21700 3S4P for field charging

This would be for field charging my flight packs (6S 1600s, about 35Wh each). Should be about 6-8 full charges if assuming I land without fully discharging the pack and my math is right.

Good idea, or will I burn my garage down?

Talk me out of building my Vapor D5 into a D6 when I run out of spares 🤔

I have an O4 Vapor D5 build and it's fun as hell. Its also kind of a pig, 730ish auw with a 6s 1600.

Doesn't matter how many times or how hard I crash, as long as I get the quad back I'm laughing like an idiot even if it's in pieces. So far I've replaced a top plate, an O4 lens, 2 arms, 3 motors, and who knows how many props.

Recently I learned the D6 arms are direct replacement. Just swap arms, motors, props and it becomes a 6in.

I've never found the D5 lacking in the agility department, but I've chased racecars on a track with it and wanted more power. I also run gps rescue, position hold with the fattest GPS module (25x25) I could reasonably fit on it. My latest project was adding LED racewires on the arms which was a fun cosmetic project at cost of 1-2 grams extra weight

I'm thinking with all the extra stuff I've put on the quad, maybe it's better suited as a 6in? I know in theory it will be less maneuverable, but I'm not pushing the agility limits on a 5in anyways?

Let's hear your thoughts

HQprop 3x3x3 (Avata2)

I just got some of these props. Is it normal the numbers are missing from the blade?

For reference - the 3.2 pitch version has "T3x3.2x3" on the blade.

The bag says HQ-3x3x3GR-Avata 2, but the props only say "HQprop" and "HQprop" "R"

Is my FC dead

crashed hard enough to break an arm, the FC was fine immediately after but now it doesn't want to work.

no MCU LED; BAT, 5V, and 9V have correct voltage; VTX works with no OSD; not recognized by betaflight in regular and DFU modes

anything I can try before I buy a new one?

Context - I fly fpv quadcopters with a proprietary radio link, want to buy a 2.4 ELRS radio that I'll also use for flying fixed wing in the future

How many trim buttons do I realistically need?

Some radios have 4, some have 2, some have none. Quadcopters pretty much never need trim so aside from knowing how the buttons work I dont know much about this topic

what are yall's thoughts on this radio? seems to be the only compact radio that goes up to 500mW on 2.4 ELRS

other radio I'm considering is the pocket. chunkier and half output power, but I'm assuming it's popular for a reason

don't want a radio with protruding switches like the zorro or boxer, I'd break it off in a week

Hi everyone, recently I bought myself a first drone - meteor 75 pro, after some time it started to have motor stutters, which I could fix by replugging the motor, but I basically had to do it after every crash. So I decided to solder motors directly to the board.

After soldering the motors directly to the board I don't have stutters anymore, but now when I go above ~20% throttle I can't go back: I can't lower throttle, only increase it, so just flies straight up and crashes. This doesn't happen with pitching though.

As you can see by the picture, this was my first time soldering, so I am just glad that motors spin, but does anyone have any idea what might causing it?

Edit: Thank you all for your help! I'll get a practice board to learn how to properly solder and then try to resolder this AIO.
