I know this season didn’t end like anyone wanted, but it was still awesome to come home to this in the mailbox today.

Brandon Gaudin Appreciation Post

So I’m 34. I remember the twilight years of Skip Caray, the brief stint Boog had, and of course Chip Caray. However, Brandon Gaudin might be my favorite play by play commentator of all time for any sport.

Last night’s win is the best example of what he does. An old school sound but with a youthful tone. Pop culture references, humor, excitement, and of course his actual Braves fandom makes this dude electric every night.

“Ha-Seong HIM” was just next level.

Ozzie Rookie Auto!

Didn’t have an Ozzie auto and now I do. Snagged this on eBay for $30 and she’s a beaut!

Huge win last night. Anyone scream in laughter when Harper made the error?!

Carolina Blue Chrome Craig Kimbrel /199

I’ve said in here before that Craig Kimbrel is a PC of mine.

I just got his rookie auto but I also wanted a card of him doing “the pose”. Carolina blue happens to be my favorite color so getting a Carolina blue chrome parallel of the pose was chef’s kiss. The blue pops way more in the sunlight than indoors.

Have a great week everyone!

AC Unit in my hot classroom update

I posted a few days ago about wanting to install a portable AC unit in my 7th grade classroom. A unit was gifted to me by a friend.

The unit is here! I installed it. Before installing it, for whatever reason while I was at PD, our admin team had a PD of their own and chose my room. They saw the AC box sitting there and didn’t say a word.

FWIW - AC isn’t working at school today. Feels like a swamp in the entire building.

66 degrees is pumping right now in room 213! Take that North Carolina heat!

AC Unit Given to me as a gift for my extremely hot classroom.

So my school was built in the 1920s and it’s very old. My classroom is directly facing the sun and I have several windows directly facing the sun. The AC barely works in the school. Needless to say it gets extremely hot in my room. There were times in May and June it reached almost 90 degrees because our air was so bad.

I have three fans going at all times and it barely does anything. So as a complete and total pipe dream I put on my AWList this year a portable AC unit. My thought was that people would give Amazon gift cards to contribute to it. It was $300. Well…I had a friend today buy the entire thing. I couldn’t believe it.

My question is, do y’all think I will get in trouble for using it in my room? My room gets unbearably hot. Today was our first day back for teacher workdays and we were all sweating in the media center during our opening meeting. I don’t want to get in trouble with the district or anything.

This feels like a forgiveness over permission situation.

What do y’all think?

EDIT 5:06 PM: I just want to put out there. My principal is amazing. Even if she did say no, she would be cool about it. She’s the best principal I ever worked for and usually turns a blind eye to things. But idk about this.
