All these carnists claiming that you need animal cruelty to build muscle is an absolute joke.
There's a really simple answer to the whole thing. Eat soy.
Problem fucking solved. It's a complete protein, and despite it not being as protein dense as animal meat, it's way lower calorie. Which in every other realm of health seems to be viewed as a good thing.
Some people complain that tofu is too bland. My retort: So is chicken. You know what you can do to make it taste better? Put some fucking plants on it. You know, Garlic, onion, pepper, oregano, oil - The tastiest foods. The foods so tasty we put them on other foods to enhance the flavor.
Ugh.
And the whole "I need to drink shakes to get my protein if I'm vegan"
So what? same goes for carnists. If you want to optimally build muscle, you gotta supplement your protein regardless. That's why 95% of the protein market is not vegan.
Anyway. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.
I did a little napkin math: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZOJNfVrrX1HAwlk-jMgZo424eiaO-3kinKwRIUl3eQ4/edit?gid=0#gid=0
It seems like the DCs for locks are way over tuned when compared to DC by level.
If the GM gives the party the hardest lock to pick they can, without letting the item level exceed the PC level, the party rogue is taking an average of -4 to their checks compared to if the GM didn't know the rules, and hand waived it away using the DC by level chart to set a DC appropriate for the character level. At level 3, the PC is taking an effective -7! (not factorial. -7 is just huge)
Because of this "every +1 matters" system, that's like giving a player -14 at a 5e table. That's fuckin crazy talk. Just because they are level 3, and you decided to throw a level 3 lock at them? But that's not enough though. A level 3 lock needs to be picked 4 times. 4 times??? with a minus 7?? I'm having trouble with this one.
If you use the DC by level chart, then it becomes a bit too easy though.
The best shot a player has at opening an on level lock is at level 16, where they have an effective +5. Which is crazy.
Using the DC by level chart based on the item level seems to have the opposite problem, where it buffs the player into the stratosphere.
I'm thinking about creating my own table of locks. Someone talk me down.
Mathfinder, help me.
What is YOUR favorite TTRPG?
Here is the video where he talks about the poll and why he's doing it.
The poll link can be found in the doobly doo of the video. I would include it, but I think there's some token tracking from youtube. It's probably best to just go to the video and click the link.
Plus, I like bob. He deserves the views 😄
I'm not sure if this counts as a promotional post. It's not my youtube channel.
