Bully breed mix kills housemate cat and dog (US, August 2026)

Posted in a Facebook group of educated dog enthusiasts and professionals- I thought these comments were very telling. People in dog fancy are well aware of the bully breed problem, but know better than to say so in public spaces because you'll get ganged up on and flamed by pitbull apologists.
Picture of attacking dog who was destroyed included.

Where do I go now?

My gyno tested my iron right before I got pregnant in February and I miscarried in late April with significant bleeding. I have a history of fibroids with a removal surgery in 2024 and he suspects adenomyosis as well. Between February and April I was taking a prenatal vitamin daily and switched to an iron supplement after the miscarriage.
I wish I'd had ferratin tested specifically before because I have been feeling like garbage for probably 5 years and its probably been low iron the whole time.

40 years old.

I have a hysterectomy scheduled for November and hope that will help as well as supplementing. I have been considering paying out of pocket for an infusion as my insurance won't cover it as my levels are "normal" 🙄

Sold me one genuine and two dupes in a lot of three all listed as genuine

They were very cheap, but I used to work for this brand (Soma) so I like to buy their products. Seller posted all three as this brand but two are Auden, the Target dupe brand, which is much lower priced and lower quality. I also feel like the listing pictures were intentionally deceptive (1st slide), second is my pic after they arrived showing the tags lay flat and obviously Auden...

8 weeks/Short Term Disability-FMLA

My office job is very flexible and has been super accommodating. My doctor said he wants me in bed for a week after, then walking by two weeks, able to work remotely by three weeks, and back to work by 6 weeks but he will write me out longer if desired. My surgery is Nov 6 so exactly 8 weeks would put me back at work Jan 1 and then I can also have a very nice Christmas at home. Financially I have enough PTO banked to be paid normally for one week and then I am eligible for FMLA and short term disability at 60% of my normal rate of pay, which would pay the bills. Does taking 8 weeks sound excessive or good?

My husband works from home and is also dealing with health issues so I think being curled up with him for 8 weeks in the dead of winter while recovering from major surgery sounds lovely.

I had a myomectomy in 2024 and took a week off and then worked remotely for a week, and took it easy the next two weeks, but had a different supervisor and role at the time that was a bit more demanding. My current supervisor seems on board with whatever I ask and has already emphasized this is a major surgery with a likely lengthy recovery to be expected.

The logic

I am the least athletic person and have very little personal or professional interest in dance or cheer, but I enjoy shows like this for some reason. So that is the lens I ask this question from.

They were hardcore about cutting down during training camp from 45 to 36 on the official team. The dancing and stunt work is intense and many of the cheerleaders seem to struggle with injury. It also seems for their formations, they need that 36.

For other sports teams, it seems normal to have first string, second string, people that barely get to play beyond practice but are there as insurance if one of the main players is injured.

When Reece was injured during the Christmas show practice, the coaches called in a girl that had retired two years previously to sub in for her, not knowing her fitness level, if she was ready to perform, etc. That kind of adds the weird expectation that even after you retire you might get a call? I have returned to previous roles to volunteer and it was weird as hell... (nonprofit life lol)

Would it not make sense to bump the roster to 40 and have two dancers on the bench for these types of situations and just rotate out who is sidelined, or who might have something else going on, ill, etc?

It seems like a strange solution to an inevitable problem, people aren't machines.

JVN's rescued Pitbull mix attacks his cat, breaking her jaw, and is immediately rehomed (June 2, NYC)

Jonathan Van Ness (Queer Eye, Getting Curious) and his husband adopted a mini-pitbull mix at 10 weeks old in 2023. Embark tests show George is 30% ACD, Staffordshire Terrier, American Pit Bull, and about 5% Border Collie. They have two other dogs and 5 cats. (All info from his Youtube video, meet our dogs!) Jonathan posted an instagram update today (@jvn) that George and one of their cats "got in a scuffle" while passing on a stairwell which resulted in the cat having a severely broken jaw and nearly dying. George was "returned to foster"/rehomed immediately as this was not the first incident and Jonathan stated he believes George needs to be in a one-pet home. The cat is in recovery and of course with a TV personality's resources was able to survive, I'm sure most people would not be able to afford that level of care for a cat.

Another example of celebrities promoting the adopt don't shop dogma and then suffering from the massive overpopulation and downplaying of the danger that bully breed mixes pose to other animals. Because of reckless overbreeding rescues with otherwise good intentions are stuck with a glut of these animals and no good solution.

Idea: an item that erases a pet completely

An item that (with ample warning of course, maybe two-three clicks of the screen) erases a pet from Neopia completely. Name purged and all. Like they never were.

Make it a HT item and I guarantee some people would buy one per day to purge the pound of Electrik_babby1765_x and other such atrocities

Another NP sink
Another way to have fewer pound pets that are legit unwanted

ETA: the Pizza of death does not currently do this. I just had the idea while looking at it
